And some stat about Voges - if he gets to 123 it'll be the most runs a batsman has scored between dismissals, beating Sachin. Unlikely

Well he did it, and averages 2 short of Bradman. Fuck sake, where have you been hiding this guy ?

A couple might still be early in their careers but four Australian batsmen average over 50......I thought this team wasn't supposed to be great ?

State cricket was where he was hiding. Remember: it's harder to get OUT of our cricket team than it is to get in

I looked up the list on cricinfo, on the highest averages list there is a 20 inning cut off, he is playing his 19th and currently averaging 98.41. So in theory he could overtake the Don if he gets more here and either gets another ton or fuck all not out in his next dig. I know he just feasted on the worst Windies team in history but fuck a duck, that's still some fucken effort with the willow. Hats off to him.

EDIT: had a another look, he's also benefitted from more not outs than Brian Lara managed his whole career. All he is is a slightly better version of Mark Craig.

Well we have been put in our place well and truely. Aussie really are a great cricket nation. Even at home with one of our best teams ever we have to be firing on all cylinders just to compete with what for them is a average side.

Sadly we are not firing on all cylinders and we are getting a thrashing.

So you don't think it was odd he refused to accept what was a fairly straight forward caught and bowled catch and stood and forced the umpires to review it. Most players accept the bowlers word in such situations even if they didn't see it clearly themselves and walk.

It's the umpire's job to give you out. This isn't fucking Christmas day backyard with the in laws.

Aussie v Kiwi aside, the pom has well and truly ruined this as a contest. A test that I was looking forward to. Fortunately the not so super 125 is starting soon...

Ah yes, the umpire has ruined this, not the Kiwis shithouse batting/bowling.

Illingworth had nothing to do with you guys getting skittled on Day 1, or dropping Smith. Or the next day's benign attack which let Uz and Voges rack up big tons.

That's why I hate umpiring/reffing blunders. Because it makes losing fans think that the reason they lost was one bad decision by the official, not the fact that they played badly.

Not to say NZ have lost this test, but it's not looking good.
