@Bones who?
Tom Taylor - son of Warwick. Classy, could have done well, but coincided with a heap of 10s in Canterbury
I fondly recall a R1 (?) NPC game maybe around 2014 which he absolutely dominated. Like dominated so hard that it made Richie Mo'unga dominating NPC finals looks like a training camp for game domination.
I'd have him back, for sure.
He was a 10-come-12 who was poorly used predominantly at FB by Blackadder where he was just pedestrian really. Those with rose-coloured glasses would say it was his own fault and he should have moved. But where to? In his era the Chiefs had AC, Highlanders had Sopoaga and Hurricanes had BB. The Blues had been suggested but who honestly believes the Blues would have been good for Taylor, and - less so - Taylor good for the Blues?

I remember his All Black debut and he fitted in seamlessly. Then he poked on off

Must be for Aussie market?
It makes it a watchable time for the UK & SA
But I do wonder if SA and USA will buy the TV rights to it, all the same?

His AB debut was his best game. He was rated highly by some people after that. However he didn't follow it up when he returned to SR level.
Probably a good decision to cash in on an inflated reputation

I think I remember that game he started too - second Bledisloe test of the year (http://stats.allblacks.com/asp/teamsheet.asp?MT_ID=2226). From memory we were dominant start to finish, and charged down a couple of good kicks.
He is only 31, so could have a few years left in him. Highlanders are screaming out for a quality 10 aren't they?

@Stargazer hopefully Conrad Smith uses his Pau connection to rush Taylor to Wellington.

@nzzp Canes need a good 10 more. Landers have Josh Ioane.
Wait, don't you guys have Beaudy? And Otere?
(sorry, couldn't help myself)

@nzzp Otere back the Canes in 2021. You heard it here first.
What people don't realise is quite how heartbreakingly awesome the crushing defeats are going be now. Great teams like the Blues can set you up by looking great, and then knock you down to the depths. We havne't won anything yet, just looked like a good cohesive unit. This could be a great mirage, setting us up as patsies once again before failure
It's the only way ... we'll now have Beaudy go down injured, DC turn out to be pants, lose Otere to the Canes, and wind up back where we started with our souls destroyed and the dreams and hopes yet again in tatters.
-
@nzzp dreams are free.
If Barrett and Carter don't shift the Blues culture for the better, then I'm afraid the franchise is doomed. I actually have a gut feeling the Blues are going to be quite successful in this comp. Just as long as Beaudy plays like poos against the Canes, that's all I care about at this point.

I see you have been frolicking through my dreams...
