    @Hooroo Yeah, am thinking the same thing. Fox must have secured a deal.

    @Hooroo I'd have thought moving to 5pm instead of the earlier k/o means it wont clash with club footy, and probably be good for clubs to keep people in club rooms for an hour or 2 longer to watch could be a factor too

    @Hooroo no NZ...I mean they get more eyeballs if people can watch thier club play and then super rugby, more $$$ for bar takes...probably not the main driver, but surely a factor?

    That doesn't help NZRU though. They can sell rights to Aussie

    Can't look that far ahead at the moment. This is a micky mouse comp that needs to generate as much cash as possible.

    @Hooroo oh I realise that, may not have been a factor, but if was a minor one, but I think it is a good move that will help club rugby.

    @Bones who?

    Tom Taylor - son of Warwick. Classy, could have done well, but coincided with a heap of 10s in Canterbury

    I fondly recall a R1 (?) NPC game maybe around 2014 which he absolutely dominated. Like dominated so hard that it made Richie Mo'unga dominating NPC finals looks like a training camp for game domination.

    I'd have him back, for sure.

    He was a 10-come-12 who was poorly used predominantly at FB by Blackadder where he was just pedestrian really. Those with rose-coloured glasses would say it was his own fault and he should have moved. But where to? In his era the Chiefs had AC, Highlanders had Sopoaga and Hurricanes had BB. The Blues had been suggested but who honestly believes the Blues would have been good for Taylor, and - less so - Taylor good for the Blues?

    I remember his All Black debut and he fitted in seamlessly. Then he poked on off

    3 pm NZT on a Sunday is hardly prime time viewing in Aust or the UK/SA so why not move both KO times if this is the motivation?

    But I do wonder if SA and USA will buy the TV rights to it, all the same?

    His AB debut was his best game. He was rated highly by some people after that. However he didn't follow it up when he returned to SR level.

    Probably a good decision to cash in on an inflated reputation

    I'd rather see Tom Taylor at the Canes next season than Lima Sopoaga, who has looked nothing but unmotivated/lazy since his last SR season.

    I think I remember that game he started too - second Bledisloe test of the year (http://stats.allblacks.com/asp/teamsheet.asp?MT_ID=2226). From memory we were dominant start to finish, and charged down a couple of good kicks.

    He is only 31, so could have a few years left in him. Highlanders are screaming out for a quality 10 aren't they?
