The man was a winner. A psychopath perhaps, but a winner nonetheless.
In much the same way I recognised Ben Johnson as the fastest sprinter in the world for a substantial period of time. Both of them competing against people also doping, they were just faster.
In Ben's defence he didn't seek to destroy people to ensure he wasn't outed. That's what makes Lance a fluffybunny.

agree with absolutely all of this. Throw in extreme arrogance, and it's quite the cocktail
I'm willing to forgive a bit of shit because i can't say categorically that i wouldn't have done the same thing in his position.

My issue with Lance is that he coerced his young gullible team mates to ingest large quantities of carcinogens, or at the very least was complicit in that coercion.
hahaha yeah that's all on Lance....
He got to Jan Ullrich, too. Impressive.

The word you're looking for is leadership.
Let's not kid ourselves into pretending cycling is clean. Almost all of them are on something, before and after Lance. He did take it to another level with the way they jacked up. The way they stacked their team to help him win was brilliant though

that's not cheating. And is done in every sport everywhere
Yeah, apologies but I didn't structure my comment well. Jacking up was cheating. All the rest was brilliant. Ive fixed my post. Sky followed the template to get dominant wins for Wiggins and Froome

Hypocrite of the highest order.
Will forever be a lying, sneaky, manipulative cu*t in my book.

Yeah, same same. Filthy fucking cheat, but he was the best cheat in the game, and he worked his arse off the whole time. The cancer bizarrely helped with weight loss for the climbs, but you could never question his work ethic.
He'll always be a cnt for the way he attacked Lemond, the Irish physio, others. But somehow I'll always have a spot for him in my sporting heart. I really can't explain it.

You need to learn to speak more plainly. People will understand you clearly then.

He still portrays himself as a victim though and I guess that’s just his inherent self absorbed personality.
I wonder what happened to his ex mechanic? Can’t remember his name (Mike someone). Armstrong tried hard to completely ruin him and he had to run away from being top bike mechanic on the tour circuit to running a bike shop in Upper Hutt.
The shop didn’t last and he came across as having a chip on his shoulder, but still, he didn’t deserve what he copped for telling the truth when questioned by authorities. -
He's no sporting great, he is probably sport's greatest fraud.
I don't think so. He cheated, like everyone else, but that doesn't make him a fraud. For me, it'd be like Usain Bolt beign pinged for cheating - invalidates the records, but still freakish athletes and so driven to get to the place that the drugs put them into the record books.
So, assholes, lying, cheating, sport destroying monsters ... but not frauds.

I'll watch it; it'll be fascinating.
But he's a fluffybunny; a psychopathic cheating fluffybunny of the highest order.
He's no sporting great, he is probably sport's greatest fraud.
I guess that's why I'll watch it though.
Yeah - when you read about some of the shit he did to take down people who were telling the truth about him, Lance is a total asshole.
But, the story is compulsive viewing.
