@antipodean wow - so he played club (rep) rugby and 'enjoys the game' alongside those other attributes. Oh, and he has a penis 😉 🎣

    And he's from Mosman....

I wonder if I should send in my CV. I played rugby and lived in Mosman briefly. That's enough for a board position surely?

Wait on pal, I also lived in Mosman for 2yrs, and while I played my rugby for Colleagues, I often played AGAINST Mosman. So I have been on BOTH sides of the Mosman wank, which means I can understand the fancy rich folk as well as the poor, working class plebs of the Eastern Suburbs.

My CV is in the mail.

I'm from Eastbourne, lived in Bronte for a few weeks, played one game for Waverley and have seen a couple of family business failures. What's my chances?

The ARU you only have to halve 2/3rds of fuck all

Although, the healthy dose of memory and delusion will be difficult to reduce

Let's not set the bar too high. If you can type Mosman into Google maps, you get an interview.

If you can find Rawson Park on a map, you've passed for second interview.

More deck chair shuffling on the HMAS Rugby Australia:

New Rugby Australia director Peter Wiggs has resigned.

The Supercars chairman and Archer Capital co-founder joined the RA board on March 30 and was poised to take the reins as chairman until a fallout over his plans to install Australian Olympic Committee boss Matt Carroll as chief executive without going through a recruitment or interview process.

Rugby AU Chairman Paul McLean says Raelene Castle suffered bullying during the final few months of her tenure at the organisation.

Wiggs also wanted to appoint Carroll's former boss, long-running former RA chief executive John O'Neill, to a director's role on the board.

Several RA directors raised concerns over the method behind both suggested appointments, leading to Wiggs threatening to resign. He did so this morning, board sources confirmed.

@antipodean more clown shoes... Rudderless and directionless, although I suppose that's better than going full steam ahead into an iceberg.

Kearns and co have been very quiet lately. Surely they've had time to come up with ONE idea.

Actual email exchanges between board members have been leaked to the media. Craziness.

This is comedy gold, it's like a rugby union written by Armando Iannucci.

So ' I want to be chairman and I want my Buddy to be CEO, and it needs to happen now. If I don't get it ASAP I'll resign' is that basically it?

It's an amazingly petulant response when someone mentions "good governance"

    @Tim

    https://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/rugby-union/peter-wiggs-resigns-from-rugby-australia-board/news-story/89ee3931abde42856b7f1c0c86f4443c

The Australian has obtained the email chain where McLean writes to Wiggs saying his “closeness” to Matt Carroll, the current Australian Olympic Committee CEO who has been suggested as the next Rugby Australia boss, “would be a concern for most Boards. So how do we apply separation”.

McLean suggests that Magellan executive and incoming board member Hamish McLennan would be a more suitable chairman. McLean proposes that Carroll and McLennan meet “immediately”.

The email from McLean reads: “What if we get Hamish and Matt together immediately, and if Hamish is comfortable (with Matt) and to come to the Board early, and as designate Chair, we could appoint Matt (Phil (Waugh), Dan (Herbert), Brett (Godfrey), and me would support). You remain a lead director, without the Chair title which was never your desire, anyway, Matt gets the role he would like, and we get a good CEO immediately.

“I can only presume you hate the politics as much as me, so I’m keen to get this resolved. I put Rob on hold, but that won’t last long. Maybe a chat in the morning.......... Rgds PM”

Wiggs then replied to McLean saying he would resign today.

“Hi Paul, This is a very disappointing email, what little regard I had for RA Board is now extinguished. I tried calling to discuss. I will resign tomorrow. Regards Peter.”
