@Bones do you know what rules?
They don't say, but at a guess it could violate three:
- Your story should contain original insight, ideas or perspectives. Don’t just aggregate the work of others, and don’t plagiarize.
- Put a nice image on your story — just make sure you’re not violating someone else’s copyright.
- Finally, please don’t peddle pseudoscience or bad health advice. Life’s already too short to give people bad health advice.

@antipodean sooooo, you didn't like it then?

They're not my rules and I did like it.
-
@antipodean those are their quoted rules?
I didn't love the whole piece (when does anyone, ever), but other than maybe #1 (and he did quote sources), surely it didn't fall foul of #2 or #3
Given the stuff they publish daily, that piece was one of the last I'd have expected to be pulled.
At the end of the day it's an opinion piece, clearly not the opinion of Medium

I liked it because it used evidence from authoritative sources to point out closing schools and beaches is not evidence based policy.

Spotted in the hand wash section of Coles this arvo, so obviously considered essential and worth panic buying ...
Hang on... They are SQUARE!?!

@antipodean I get why you liked it. I had a few issues with it, but overall it was well researched and well written and I'm staggered that it would be pulled. My opinion of his conclusions are totally irrelevant!
-
@R-L that is messed up

So, I can't vouch for the authenticity of this. But if true, it goes a long way to explaining why we can't just sit back and say "oh, the trajectory of China will be the same for NZ/US/Australia".
Every country has implemented such vastly different measures, the international data just isn't a reliable indicator for localised forecasts

The modelling they use in the UK shows it has an impact, but a minimal one. I'd imagine it's easier to keep kids hands clean in schools for example.

Youtube have been demonetizing and demoting coronavirus related posts for weeks now. Facebook have also let their algorithm run roughshot over the topic. The idea is so the only point of view seen is that from mainstream sources CNN/Fox/WHO. The intention is good however as these outlets frequently lie or get it wrong it can be infuriating.

That guy is a cock. Absolute fluffybunny. Lecturing others about Covid 19 risks, while he break self isolation rules after 1 bloody day.

@Baron-Silas-Greenback really? More info? Some sources and links?

It is the video. He flies in from China, gets told to self isolate, but after 1 night with elderly father, he breaks quarantine. Risking anyone who interacts with him on his way to China from Blenheim
-
@Baron-Silas-Greenback aren't you allowed to get a connecting flight when you land? And you are allowed to isolate with family, there are rules around that.
