What are you listening to, right now................

@mariner4life Nice one. I think it was more a sound issue in Sydney , they could barely hear Lambert singing, the instruments were way too loud. Glad it was better π

@mariner4life not to dampen, but have a few friends say they disappointed in Sydney. Hopefully they put on a good show for the westerners
interesting, was the disappointment against expectation?
i thought the show was great. I had zero expectations, so with a pretty open mind i just watched a good rock show. Those two old guys clearly still love playing those songs, and seem to really appreciate having the chance to play them again. Adam Lambert can fucking sing, and with a playlist of some of the most iconic rock songs of all time, it was pretty good fun.
There is a hint of "tribute show" about it, as you would expect with the main guy not there. But, there is nothing from the band about replacing Freddie, and there are bits where they incorporate him in to it.
I liked it. And the crowd seemed to as well.
Agree with that . Really enjoyed it , impressed with Lambert too .

Heard this the other day, flashback material! -
Tool concert tomorrow up in Auckland. I'm in the big smoke for 25 hours and aiming to be munted for at last 20 of em! π
Folks and some other family and friends went to Queen in Wellington. Amazingly awesome by all accounts.
-
Tool was fucking awesome. No phone policy (vids or pics etc during the gig) was the best thing ever. No light pollution, no distraction from the primo lights and visuals, and it must have been good in the GA area - sucks when some kunt has their phone held up blocking your view.
Holy shit those guys are talented. Insane how good they sound live.
Mate scored a ticket so he went back to back on Fri and Sat. My sister was up for the Sat gig and I'm jelly as they played 46&2 but we got more of the new album on Friday. That's barely worth mention though as any set list would have me barring up lol.
Faith no more is the next one ... if I can get another pass. Given we've got a 6 week old getting up to Tool was pretty mint ha ha. She's a good wahine for sure!
-
@Paekakboyz I was happy when I read about the no phone policy too. I have no idea why people want to watch a concert through a screen.
I bought a ticket on the day of the concert when Tool last played in Auckland so didn't bother this time around. I haven't had much luck with concerts in the last 2 weeks because of sickness and cancellation.

The New Birth. I Can Understand It. (1972)

This, on repeat. Kid is a genius
When it's on now, i even see Mrs Mariner nodding her head.
-
@mariner4life how can you not. Amazing album, even if some lyrics are a tad dated...

26 years old is a fair while!

Chuck just kicked Flav out of Public Enemy. Can there even be a Public Enemy without Flav? Donβt think so.
-
@Salacious-Crumb absolutely not, the contrast in the voices is as important as the lyrics
