It seems a few people thought Reyes won?

I scored it 48-47 to Jones

As an Izzy fan, this was probably the best possible outcome. Sucks for Reyes though.

He was very good for the first 3 rounds. I gave the second round to Jones but it was extremely close. I know Reyes had the better striking stats.. however I thought Jones had the better of the exchanges in that round

I was cheering for Reyes and understand people scoring it for him. I am surprised by the number of people that think this was a robbery

The 49-46 judges card was bullshit though

    How good was Jones's chin??

I hope they set up a rematch soon

I think Jones stole it with the takedowns for 2 of the judges. If you want t go 5 round with the champ you have to win outright. I guess he didn't do that.

I'm not sure if Reyes could fight that fight again and not be found out by Jones. I think Jones would level up as he did vs Gustafsson and up the number of kicks he'd throw.

Maybe.. there's so many questions about how a rematch would go

Is it possible for someone Reyes size to keep that pace up for longer than 3 rounds?
If he holds back does he lose more of the early rounds?
Jones might go for the take downs from round one?

Jones would probably win a rematch.. however the performances against OSP, Santos and now Reyes gives the opposition more hope than the first part of his career.

Maybe the picograms have stopped pulsing 💉

Dana seems to think Reyes has it. I’m slowly being convinced, by a guys at work, Jones did enough to squeak by.

The Houston card was pretty controversial. Refs and Judges getting it wrong.

    @MiketheSnow

Do you have a prediction for the Felder v Hooker fight? It would be good to hear a non kiwi point of view

My by biased prediction is of course a Hooker win..

The first round is the biggest worry. Despite Hookers persona he is a deliberate calm fighter.. he evaluates the opponents in the first round before picking up the pace. Felder might get some damage in early
There's stories about how hard the weight cut is for Felder so the longer it goes the more confident I am

Everyone seems to be talking about the striking.. but I think it might end by a Hooker rear naked choke late in the fight

@Duluth I know you said “non kiwi” but I want to talk lol....

Felder’s spinning back fist is dangerous. For him as well. Having broken his arm throwing it. He’s better than Iaquinta but I don’t think he’s this elite fighter he’s sometimes made out to be. He’s a brawler. Hooker is calculating and so bloody long. I think if he get that feint game going he could do some real damage.

Felder is a very good kickboxer and I think that’s where he has the edge. Kicks and lots of them will win him the fight.

    Hooker's to lose.

Head and shoulders better than Felder.

I watched the open workouts yesterday

The pad work with Felder and Duke Roufus was the highlight. These workouts are generally a bit of fluff to build hype, but Felder dialled up the intensity
Seeing the speed of his elbows and spinning back fists up close was really impressive

Good to see Crute wrestle with Dan Kelly too

Hooker gets the win. This is the first time I have ever really watched UFC so I am not quite an expert yet, but was this a hometown decision? Felder looked like he was landing more decent strikes than Hooker. Hooker's takedowns at the end worth more than strikes?

I scored it 3-2 Hooker at the event. Felder had a big 4th round

Only one judge gave Hooker the last (which ended with the Hooker takedown)

Personally I scored it the same as the blue judge. 2 & 5 very close rounds so the fight could've gone either way.

I thought Hooker lost. I felt the takedown was probably the determining factor for the judges as well as home town love. I don't think you can quite call it a robbery. Hooker started well with the kicks he placed but as it went on Felder's superior kickboxing showed out.

Kara-France was accurate but not spectacular.

Riddell was lucky those takedowns didn't count against him. If the Russian had been busier on top it wouldn't have been close enough to get a split decision. But Riddell probably sold himself better than any other fighter on the card, who didn't ko thier opponent.

The judges voting is all over the place on this one. Which is not a surprise as there were so many close rounds
They only agree that the 4th goes to Felder and that the 1st goes to Hooker.

Personally I thought 3 was a clear Hooker round. So that leaves two toss up rounds that Felder needed to get both of

    Toss a coin

It was a very good fight. That's getting over shadowed a bit

KKF had a speed advantage and just slowly pulled away. Nam has similar power and was still catching him often enough to be dangerous. I was worried he was going to get a late KO

Riddell was a strange fight.. if you were judging the whole fight at once he was the clear winner. He lost the first, won the 3rd easily.. 2 was razor thin

Karolina - I hope that her was last fight. For whatever reason she isn't competitive with the top fighters anymore and she took a beating

I was only a few rows back plus the fighters all exited right past where I was sitting. Her face was a mess.
It was obvious in the first round the damage was serious. I thought the doctor might have stopped it, but her corner should have.

A broken orbital bone. She's stuck in NZ until surgery is done

Jake Matthews - because of these regional cards I've seen him fight 4 times now. Sometimes it appears he's all boxing or all wrestling. This is the first time he appeared to comfortably flow from one to the other

Jimmy Crute - that chain wrestling was spectacular.. particularly for someone from this part of the world. Hiring Dan Kelly full time was a great move
