@MiketheSnow North had played a fair bit at centre though, some for Wales and some for club, right? More than Rieko Ioane, for sure!
Nope
Wow. Was Pivac suffering a power outage when they moved Cullen to centre?
-
@MiketheSnow He's played, sorry, 'outside centre' for sure. I've seen it and even wikipedia backs me up
EDIT: And Pivac: "George has played a couple of games in the centre for Ospreys and has had four starts for Wales so it is not foreign to him."
-
they're playing italy, he could start himself at centre and still be golden.

2 straight reds these days if the ref had the minerals to do it.
Nothing in it...
Winger milks it.

Halfback even.

@Derm-McCrum Young team, once sour-puss-grumpy face and Murray move on, it will be a good aged squad for RWC23
It'll be more than them. Healy, Toner, POM, Stander, Murray, Sexton, Earls will all be too old - 33/34+ - for RWC 2023 in my view. Transition should be complete by 2021 when their central contracts finish. Cronin, John Ryan and Rob Kearney are already past their use by date it would seem.
Nucifora's 6-year plan to have 3 or 4-deep in every position by 2023 is still running. I reckon a 2023 squad might look like:
Porter, Kelleher, Furlong, Ryan, Baird, O'Donoghue, Leavy, Doris
McGrath, Carbery, Stockdale, Henshaw, Ringrose, Balacounne, Larmour
Heffernan, O'Sullivan, O'Toole, Henderson, Deegan, Casey, Byrne, Addison.Ulster have another Sexton under their wing - a young fella who has personal bests at 10.43 seconds over 100m and 20.69 over 200 - so he might prove useful. He's on 7s circuit at the moment.

@Derm-McCrum That's interesting I didn't realise the core was that sort of age. Ireland are doing pretty darn well for development, esp considering player numbers

Not the question you asked.
A couple of times at club level and four times for Wales is hardly experienced.
And he hasn't set the world on fire in any of those matches.
Defensively it could be a long afternoon.

Antoine Dupont was the best halfback of the day and Gregory Alldritt was immense.
Fagerson was better than Furlong IMO, putting a lot of pressure on the Irish scrum and being a nuisance in the rucks. Sutherland better than Marler, too.Agree on first two points. Alldritt probably my player of the round. Marler was excellent in scrum, but not a lot more. Poirot was a complete nuisance at ruck time when he came on.

@taniwharugby worth seeing the slightly Irish horse again.

Anyone from Wellington who is today at Murrayfield for the England-Scotland game is going to be reminded a wee bit of home:

Ignore the title. Reading the article, there is no spat between WR and JRFU.
The JRFU just seems to have no clue about what they're doing with their domestic competition. Apart from the fact that they seem to be changing the competition every other year, they're also planning it wrong (scheduling it for the wrong months: August/September to January), much to the frustration of Jamie Joseph.
