I thought we used to get it as a Christmas Cracker joke?

Isaac Luke will no doubt have a blinder this year, at the Dragons...
As for the Warriors still actually at the Warriors Tohu Harris is the player we need to stand up. If he can wrest the pack away from Blair and take ownership of the forwards we'll have a chance at coming maybe 11th or 10th...
I gave up on them last year and stopped commenting. This year I'm back but with a new outlook. Fuck this hope and keep the faith shit. I'm expecting the wooden spoon and anything that happens better than that is a bonus.

That's the spirit. It's the hope that kills you

@raznomore if we are going to lose, can we at least be fun to watch? I'll take that trade off. Go 10-14 with an average score of 32-26 i would take.
And so i went to last year's ladder to see what it was last year. Average score was 24-18. Gee we don't score a lot do we?
So i had a closer look. That average points scored for teams finishing 3-8 on the ladder was 21 a game (the runaway top 2 averaged 26). It astounds me that the dedicated league heads still crap on about the entertainment in their game.

@mariner4life I miss the ball playing. Every now and then we a see glimpses like last seasons try of the year. You have to admit that when Johnson left he took a whole lot of fun with him. Also, we really miss his pinpoint cross-field kicks to Fus and Ken.

Te Maire Martin forced to retire immediately

Yeah a real shame for him, at just 24 years of age his best footy was still in front of him. This has been on the cards for a while though given the nature of his injury. Just shows that the careers of professional athletes who play contact sports can be very tenuous, and end in an instant.
-
Latrell Mitchell signs with Souths to play fullback. These big long contracts followed by retirements are really paying off for Souths.
-
@mariner4life I rate him and he does have an engine for a lad his size... but I wonder if FB might tax him a bit too much? Maybe he'll cut a bit of weight? or he'll truck on as is and set the world on fire. It is the NRL after all!

well i for one am feeling a lot better about 2020 after reading an interview with Kearney. He knows exactly what's up, and how to fix it
"We just need to be better," says Kearney. "We weren't at our best for parts of the year, and it showed with those losses and the draw"
shit! he's hit the nail square on the head there. Bra-fucking-vo Stephen.

I remain astonished how obviously poor coaches get to remain employed, moving from club to club like musical chairs. But someone forgot to take a seat away while the music plays.

his record at Parra is appalling!! 10-1-31. At the Warriors is slightly better at 31-1-41. I guess he is getting in because the Kiwis beat the Aussies a few times
Someone has been at his wiki
"During the ongoing 2019 season Kearney has earned the name Stephen Cryney due to repeated rants about refereeing instead of fronting up and admitting his team is bad and he can't actually coach."

Mose Masoe - took a pretty routine injury and underwent surgery to release pressure on his spine. Complications mean he may never walk again.
Mose is from my high school and rugby league club in Wellington. I don't remember him as he was 10 years behind me but by all accounts, he was always going to be a professional rugby league player. He had it factor and contrary to reports I've heard about his work ethic he was apparently putting guys to shame who were near twice his age down at Naenae park at training every week.
While he will never play again here's hoping he overcomes this and regains full use of his body.

Josh Reynolds is ready for execution in the court of public opinion, as a video of him losing his shit is circulated.
Of course, it was taken by the person he was losing it at, and there is zero context offered. It kinda stinks like a giant set up.
