NZ lost their way in the last few overs, having selected one less batsmen. Runs on the board I suppose. 180/7.

The issue is that he has the talent, and the intent, but it just hasnt clicked thus far.
You can see him trying to up the momentum, but it is almost like his cricket instincts fight the T20 smashing.

Yeah, that's what I meant - it's like he trained most of his attacking instincts out of himself to become a world class test player, and struggles to get them back when in T20 mode.

Good win - thought 180 would be enough with England fielding lots of rookies, but it probably shouldn't have been with Morgan and Vince together at 139/3.

One thing that was notable at the start was they put up the various ages of the players - England trying all sorts of newbies, but of our guys:

    Rossco 35
    Guppy 33
    CdG 33
    Munro nearly 33
    Timmy nearly 31

We need to start blooding some new batsmen.

After a good first 4 overs from NZ, England were 17-1, 2 overs later they’re 48-1 from 6.

Tickner bowled some real meat pies in his over that went for 18.

Good start down the gurgler very quickly.

Tickner gone for 32 off his 12 deliveries.

Please do not bowl him again Tim!

We’re staring down the barrel of chasing well over 200 at the moment.

I'm thinking at 52 and having had 2 cortisone injections for my bad shoulder this morning, I could bowl better than Tickner today

Not the homecoming Tickner hoped for.

Well the under performing Munro is really going to have to come off tonight, along with the rest of them.

It’ll either be an entertaining chase or we’ll end up skittled for bugger all.

49/0 from 4, just the start we needed. But it is just that chasing this mammoth total, a start!

    Keep going lads.

The handbrake has come on very quickly with the wickets of Guptil and now Seifert.

    49/0 from 4, quickly becomes 61/2 from 6.

    Game as good as over.

CDG now gone for 7 from 3.

    70/3

Edit 70/4, Munro gone next ball.

What a disappointing run chase this very quickly turned into.

Time to blood some younger batsmen.

    Why isn't Neesham playing?

I think he would have a better chance of producing a match winning innings here than anyone else still to come (apart from Taylor obviously.

Why would you block the ball when the run rate is almost 14?

It’s game over now with our long tail.

Taylor could possibly get us home if he had another batter or two to bat with.

We’re steering down the barrel of an absolute pantsing!

And now Taylor is gone and the fat lady is mid chorus.

    Neesham was injured.

    Right spanking that.

It's really really wet here at Eden Park, and I can't seem to share a picture.

    Not sure play will happen
