@sparky yep, sport is cruel alright...just a complete turn around from last week...
The Boks were as dominant in this final as England were against us last week...
England should still be proud of their World Cup campaign given the disappointment of what happened in their own tournament 4 x years ago...
South Africa were magnificent this evening from start to finish ,dominating at scrum time ,lineout , physicality and they gobbled up everything in the air..
And last for the people of Japan...congratulations for staging such a brilliant tournament ...

Silver lining is that it now provides better opportunities to regain the number one ranking. If Ngland had won we would be waiting for a one off game some time.

Ah man something about the poms reaction doesn't sit well. They just look like sore losers. None of them even want to wear their medals. Kinda feels disrespectful.

Been there for a while, sadly. Seemed to grow under Woodwhinge.

MJ & Lancaster in particular made great strides in improving that culture but it's gone downhill under Jones.

I fucking loathe attitude like that. Not what the game is about

My only wish moving forward is..please World Rugby, take a leaf out of what we are seeing with the Tongan Rugby League team..
Relax these pathetic eligibility rules...would it not be great to see 3 strong , competitive pacific island teams at a RWC..

That Farrell cock didn’t even have the decency to congratulate SA.

Like that arse McCraw in '11 ...

    Rougerie had just eye-gouged him.

No unbeaten team in the tournament is a reflection of how close it was this time around. Been a fantastic World Cup.

SA got some luck in the draw that allowed them some easier lead up knockout games (no slight, that's tournament sport). They used all of the powder they were able to keep dry tonight, and were far too good

England had a far easier ride up to the NZ match

Reinforces the idea that it's very hard to string 2 or 3 top performances together versus quality opposition

It was my birthday couple of days ago and saved the "celebrations" for tonight, with fireworks ready too. No win and its pissing down with rain and I have a foook load of cooking to do. I feel like I've been mugged off well and truly.

    David Flatman was spot on.

Served him tough but legitimate questions.

    Please explain

ITV bloke: Why did you lose?

Eddie: we lost because the South Africans played very well tonight. We tried extremely hard. Couldn't get on the front foot against magnificent defence. Congratulations South Africa.

ITV interviewer: Do you view this campaign as a disappointment?

Eddie: Not the time for reviews tonight. My players are hurting and my thoughts are with them.

ITV interviewer: Did you lose because your bus was late?

Eddie (looking pissed off by now): No excuses from us. No excuses. Commiserations to our fans. Congratulations South Afircam

Or they read their own press and were underdone
