    68 minute. 5 metres from Wales line. Right in front of the posts.

    There is an absolutely blatant PK for a tackler not rolling away and getting in the way of the ball coming out. The tackler smothers the ball and it gets stuck in the ruck.

    Ordinarily, Peyper would have blown the pea off his whistle and awarded a PK to France. Instead, he awards a scrum for unplayable.

    So, did that Welsh guy get MotM just because he took the elbow that resulted in the red card? 🤷♂

    @antipodean Raynal?

    I reckon they'll just pick the two of the QF refs - who seem like the four most highly ranked to me.

    We won't get Barnes - and I reckon they might try to avoid giving England Garces and us Nigel again - so my money is that we get Peyper.

    Boks have to be favourites to win the Cup from here. Whoever wins the England AB semi is going to be battered.

    I like your attempt to crawl under the dog that's under the underdog.

    ABs happy to see the back of France

    How many times do we have to beat them in a World Cup? I think we’ll be pretty pleased to play them?

    100% was. Another camera angle mysteriously has appeared.

    Think they're a more difficult opponent for you than Wales.

    So your winning margin would be less than 12 points in the final

    Not that shower of shit. We'd beat them worse than 2015.

    The camera angle not previously shown made it clear and obvious enough.

    French supporters must be furious. Que diable se passe-t-il?

    Live I wasn't sure what happened.

    I went back and had a look. Peyper says something like "he's stuck in there, he can't get out" but I strongly suggest that if this was a regular game he'd not have accepted that.

    An excellent attacking chance was killed. Really had to be a PK.

    Perhaps rugby is simply too hard a game to referee when it's top level knockout rugby?

    @Damo

    I think he just didn’t want to award the penalty that would have all but lost it for them. Interestingly enough though, he was happy to give the try that lost it for them....

    Isn't that the point though? I'd estimate that 1 in 3 breakdowns a ref could justify a PK if he or she wanted to - the art is choosing when to award a PK and when not to. In situations of extreme pressure is it too hard for a ref to apply that good judgement evenly?

    This case in point. A ref could easily justify the non PK by saying that the tackler was trapped, it wasn't his fault etc - and yet that same ref would not have had any hesitation in blowing the PK in normal circumstances.

    Could have, and should have, been a night on the piss then Duty Free for Wales.

    On a different day and/or a different set of officials Moriarty could have been red carded in the first half.

    No argument about the French red.

    Haven't seen the alternative angle but now appears the try should have been disallowed.

    We played shit. We didn't deserve to go through to the SF.

    But we're there.

    And we have a week to give ourselves plenty of uppercuts.

    Wales have played and won a lot of Rugby matches in the last 12 months. That and the injuries are catching up with them.
