@Stargazer This game is highlighting how good HB really are.

Looks like the boot might just be on the other foot!

Geez, that was a brilliant try from Hall. About 1mm further to the right and he would have been in touch.

Wellington have obviously turned up expecting to win. They well and truely deserve this hiding.

Fifita has shown in 13 minutes that he isn't an 8. Why isn't Ben Nicholas starting, he has been brilliant all year. Typical Wellington decision making - brainless.

I'm not sure what he was up to early doors but he's had a great last five minutes. I like the concept of Fifita at 8.

As I previously described before the match against Auckland he has the greatest difficulty in clearing up the loose ball when his scrum is backpedaling under pressure (something that is known to happen to the Wellington scrum a number of times per match) and that was graphically illustrated tonight. That skill is an essential part of a No. 8s skill set, something Fifita does not possess to any degree that would inspire you with confidence in him.

@Higgins the offload to someone in a poor position is rugby 101 not to do..Fifita has should know better, can see why he’s still in NZ

@Higgins how many games has he had there though? That's something he could learn if a coach wanted to pound it into him over an off season. It's certainly a position which we lack depth in already and badly from next season. He's quite tall for an 8, which could be part of the problem, but surely a better technique could be trained into him. He'd be dynamic off the back potentially.

Wouldn't be an issue if Wellington and the Hurricanes hadn't been so fucken incompetent a few years back and lost Nelson Asofa Solomona.

@shark He started out in the No 8 position for his Club when he first arrived in Wellington and it was about mid way through that first season that he was switched to the blindside when the flaw about backpedaling scrums became too noticeable to not do something about, hence the shit to the blindside as his regular position.

Asafoa Solomona had signed for the Melbourne Storm a couple of years before he finished up with his school days at Wellington College so probably was never available as a serious target for Wellington Rugby anyway.
