Is this about his alleged bar fight? After reading the article I'm assuming it is. What's everyone's problem with him going to court over this? How is it different to any other alleged assault? If he did it, he should miss out on the RWC. This should have probably been handled beforehand, but unfortunately, that's not how legal proceedings work, they can't just be convenient all the time.

I see the UK has expressed "regret" about what happened to the Maori after Captain Cook arrived which is great to see. Until now I thought everyone in the UK strongly supported that, thankfully we now know you all regret it.

Yep, agree. This is one of those situations where his privileged position shouldn't preculde him from being subject to the same conditions / inconvenience as any other regular Joe. In saying that, if it did turn out to be a false or greatly exxagerated accusation and he missed a portion of the RWC, you'd want to know there was significant evidence to the contrary in order for that to have come to pass.

Still trying to stay out of this but:
Allegations were made against Etzebeth.
Ezebeth has denied them and claims multiple witnesses can support his denial.
Police are still investigating the case and no criminal charges / case has yet been forwarded to the National Prosecuting authority i.e. he has not been criminally charged yet.The "Equality Court" case that the so-called Human Rights Commission (HRC) is pursuing is something that is parallel to a criminal charge. It deals with hate-speech / racism. Etzebeth is alleged to have used a naughty word.

Agreed.
Note that I have no opinion about his guilt or innocence in terms of a criminal charge. If the police find enough evidence for the prosecuting authority to bring charges, then he needs to face up to these like anyone else.But the HRC and Equality Court is another matter.
