@NTA Was thinking the same thing haha. Not someone you want at 10 if you're down by more than 10.

They go for the corner instead of taking points 20 minutes ago, they could be a poiny up and a man up to boot.

Can't help but feel the decision by the yanks to go for the penalty rather than push for the try was the determinant for the outcome of the game. France simply too good for about 15minutes.

Should have yanked McGinty 15 minutes ago

Terrible five-eighth. Utterly out of his depth at this level.

Yes it was a curious decision to take the 3 points. By curious I mean bad.

They were 6 points down, have a good driving maul, and the French had been given 2 warnings for cynical offending on the line.

If USA score a try then, France might not have been able to handle the pressure.

Mmmm I have seen at least 5 Carries exactly as Kerevi carried no penalties where is Ben Skeen to slow the game down

I think Ben O'Keefe (thats the ref a?) has been pretty good. Super impressive that he was able to speak French to the French to explain things. Super handy skill that.

Over achiever comes streaking back into the reckoning against Roberts.

@ACT-Crusader fair point, but I am just more disappointed that despite the French being so poor that the USA thought taking 3 pointers was going to get them across the line, when they kicked their 2 penalty I thought that was a great opportunity with the French under a YC warning to take a scrum and show some real intent and again with the 3rd penalty which was kicked, another opportunity to kick to the corner and go for the try..
He who dares wins..!.as Del Boy would say..!
It probably says more about the mind set of certain coaches..Gary Gold from the USA ..USA were still doing box kicks when the game was lost..and when you think of Jamie Joseph head coach of the Japanese. Completely different mind sets..

A good effort from the USA, and like Russia and Georgia they are very competitive up front but lack attacking ability in the backs against the better teams.

Like I said: good at the 10man game, which is kind of what the USA need right now with that pack. Keep putting it front, knocking the opposition backwards, and scraping out wins on a good scrum and maul.

Worked for the Boks for years

@NTA I thought the starting halfback while gutsy, was poor as well, had a side shuffle before he passed, maybe one or steps..and his box kicks ,apart from the odd one were pushed way to far..the replacement halfback looked to have a much better high kick game and pass..but why you would be doing box kicks when the game has got away on you is beyond me..
For USA to develop, they need a coach that gots more of a wider channel mindset ..

@Steven-Harris Both halfbacks are SA-born too. De Haas looks promising for a 20 yr old.
