@mariner4life that can be a non-s3xual withdrawal too.

Dunno if this is the right thread but it seemed like a parenting thing to me.

MR to 5 yr daughter “miss x, have you seen your older brother”
    5 yr daughter “He’s taking a dump”.

Brought a tear to my eye.

Update. Asked her if she’s ready to go yesterday.

“Soon, just need a piss first”.

    Less ideal.

@JK has jnr given any indication of what he'd prefer?

Yeah he initially was keen to repeat U10 as bowling wont be as fast but he would also then need to deal with the shite bowling he encountered last year that sometime doesnt even land on the pitch!

Anyway, since I've posted it looks like the 3 other lads in his team from last year are all keen to play under 11 (well thats what the parents say) so looks like we are going for that. Club said would apply for a dispensation from Auckland Cricket for them to play U11s BUT the kids would need to be available for Under 10 reps if selected

Update....got that dispensation so the lad is playing up a grade in under 11s. 3rd game of the season and he picked up a hattick today and all of them were bowled. Slowest bowler in the team but pretty much always a Yorker or just short of and if you miss then he hits. Proud dad!!!

Edit - vid of hattrick ball

You can see how little he is vs some of the others

He'll be deadly when he grows into him self as it's not easy getting young ones to bowl full and straight accurately. That with a bit of pace and he will be a handful

Last year and earlier this year he was actually bowling with a fair bit more pace but first couple of games this year he started trying to bowl too quick and throwing medium pace half trackers which are too easy to get on to. We've done a fair bit of net practice lately and hes been working on pitching it up as it so much harder for a batsmen to play unless they are confident enough to charge it and play a full toss which most kids aren't at that age.

His batting looks to be getting better too now, I think mainly due to confidence. Got 26 off his 15 (max balls) on saturday with four nice 4's including a pullshot on a head high full toss (also no ball). An enjoyable watch

I think this is best placed into this thread: Professor Jonathan Haidt explains three of the six causes of the emergence of a new moral culture of “safetyism,” and how these elements have contributed to the attitudes of current college students.

It's ~70mins long and the very, very short version is raise your kids to be anti-fragile. Let them play, fall, dust themselves off and grow.

    Resurrection....

Winter sports update - well the lad decided he didnt enjoy rugby last year and to give it a miss. Was going to play soccer with a few of his mates but coach said had too many players and no room for him. Could have played in another team but hes not huge on the game and just wanted a team sport with mates so we opted out.

Two weeks back the team was short so he filled in and scored 5 goals in a 7 nil win. Turns out they want him to join permanently now for the rest of the season! 11am games so not too bad. Plus it will mean that he probably no longer need to go and watch little miss 7's 9am netball games. Shes also doing hockey too on a monday night. Pretty funny to watch at that age.

Both my boys are waiting til cricket season, apparently they’re having a ‘break’ from team sports although they swim twice a week, do big walks with me and the other half and I’m slowly getting them into calisthenics. All of that makes it easier to justify Blobbing in front of the PS4 and Switch !

We had basketball go back 3 weeks ago. Raz jr was jumping out of his skin to get on the court. Unfortunately, parents can't attend games yet. Very happy for him though.
