Brown out: Pats cut WR amid off-field allegations

Brown out: Pats cut WR amid off-field allegations

Antonio Brown's brief stint with the Patriots is over, as the team released him Friday. "We feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time," the Patriots said.

The saddest thing, is that if and when this blows over, AB will still get another NFL job before Colin Kaepernick does

I had him not lasting until halfway through the season if he didn't get the receptions and yards he wanted but this train wreck has been compulsive viewing as a steeler fan

@SynicBast why as a steeler fan? I don’t think is will have any negative effect on the Patriots whatsoever?

On a personal level perhaps? He was a Steeler who forced his way out and I could understand their fans not having a lot of love for him. What a waste of talent

This. The guy was on a hall of fame first ballot track and may have ended up as one of the top 3 WRs of all time - but now it's very unlikely he will even make the HOF - T.O only got in with extreme difficulty and he was the previous poster child for Diva WRs as well as being one of the top 3 WRs (Rice, Moss and TO) of all time. AB has pissed off a lot of people around the NFL through his behaviour and while they say that Off-field character doesn't affect HoF voting, you better believe that that has changed in recent years - certainly if the allegations of sexual misconduct do hold up in court then that will affect matters.

There were a lot of things kept quiet or minimised in Pittsburgh during his time there that the locals knew of plus the issues in Florida as well endangering children. Basically if he never plays in the NFL again, I won't shed any tears.

@SynicBast ESPN are reporting that AB is walking away from the NFL. Unbelievable fall from grace. This civil suit will drain his fortune and if he loses he will be ruined. The guy had the golden ticket and flushed it down the dunny

The Jets and the Dolphins are going to be locked in a tough battle all season. I genuinely don't know if they would regard finishing ahead of the other as a victory or a loss. The perfect result for either would probably be to somehow win both divisional games but somehow finish lower overall. God they are both stinking out the division.

What's the fewest combined wins in a single division? Might be threatened by AFC East.

49ers overcame 5 turnovers to eek out a win vs the Steelers. 3-0 and a bye week coming up. Nice!

Does for and against ever become a factor in the NFL? If so, the Pats and Bills should be golden.

No, it's strength of schedule, so the Bills might be in trouble in a tie break scenario.

The Redskins get destroyed at home by the Bears.

You'd think for the Redskins there has to be major change very soon - the Head Coach, GM and Defensive Coordinator are all on the hot seat big time.

The Redskins owner has an awful reputation and is a known meddler but even for him you'd think enough is enough. The fanbase has the pitchforks out big time.

3 weeks in. What are we seeing?

All roads lead through New England. Still. Not only are they good, they have the two worst teams in football in their division. Again (yep, the Jets lost all their good players already, and their O-Line stinks).

The Chiefs look likely to be back in the AFC champ game against them

Fuck knows who to trust in the NFC. It's a close division, but nearly every team has a flaw, or lost their superstar QB. Packers on the back of their D and Rodgers?

Denver fucking suck, and if Elway wasn't king of the city he would get fired for his decision making the last couple of years. We are not a win now team. We are not a win next year team either. Flacco is exactly what everyone thought. We can't score points. And teams have worked out everything revolves around stopping Miller and Chubb. And lo, guess how many sacks and forced fumbles they have combined through 3 games? 0 on each count. We're fucked, and lucky the Jets and the Dolphins exist. Our schedule is pretty tough too, so expect very few wins.

Giants get their 2nd win in a row without Eli at QB.

Panthers also get their 2nd win in a row without Newton at QB.

Patriots sneak past the Bills. Brady looked like Josh Allen in this game, but Josh Allen refused to be outdone at looking like Josh Allen.

Lions almost pulled an upset over the Chiefs, but got pipped right at the end. Mahomes didn't throw a TD in this game but they still put up 34 points.

Bucs and Rams are having a shootout at the moment. Bucs up 45 - 40 late in the 4th.

Tough loss for the Broncos. They just got done right at the end. That's their 8th loss in a row.

Bears beat the Vikings and fans are really mad at Cousins. He's only thrown 3 TDs this season with some of the best weapons in the league.

Good bounce back win for the Browns. After being the media darlings of the offseason the media really got stuck into them during the last week.

He always flattered to deceive. No one should be surprised
