It’s a little suspect to have that kind of mass with the cardio requirements of rugby. I would genuinely like to see their training program.

I'd much prefer to see them hitting the wall by the 65th minute

If the ABs lose this game, it shouldtn't be a disaster as the Boks would then face England in the semi final.

But we would have to face the number 1 side in the world in the quarter final !!!

It's a squeaky tight RWC this time around.
I don't think either the Bok or AB camp see an easier side of the draw developing.
So while each team would desperately want to win the opening pool encounter, I don't think either will be devastated by a loss.

Hmmm. Is there a difference between a typhoon, cyclone and hurricane?

    This a crucial question!

Let me be so presumptuous as to speak on behalf of New Zealanders and the Fern: Nah, I think you're wrong.

There won't be dancing in the streets, but there won't be wailing and gnashing of teeth either.
    Disappointment - sure.
Lots of free advice to Hansen - sure.
But no doom and gloom. I think the Boks have earned sufficient respect lately for the AB's not to take a victory for granted this year.

The above applies even more to Saffers. In fact, a greater concern for me if the Boks should manage to win this game, is that Bok fans then think it's a party all the way to the final.

Worryingly enough, I suspect your right.

I think this year we've played 50% excellent, 50% shit against both SA & Aus. You can obviously only play as well as your opposition lets you, but the lesson is certainly there that if you don't turn up to play, you WILL lose.

That's not something that's always been the case for us over the past few years.

@MajorRage I don't recall the country ever not melting down to some degree when the ABs lose, especially a world cup game. Shit, even DV rates increase from what I have heard. But I suppose the circumstances will be different if they lose to SA, with it not being a knockout game.

Not a loss vs SA in a pool match.

On the other hand, Ireland or especially Scotland or Japan in a quarter final...

@Billy-Tell If the ABs lose a Rugby World Cup Quarter Final to Scotland or Japan, there will bigger meltdown on this forum than there was in Chernobyl on April 26th 1986.

99th time the All Blacks will have play the Old Foe.

    That's pretty cool.

So possible for the 100th on the biggest stage.

That, my friend, would be a storyline from Boys-own.
Which, if the case, and given that they will be the underdogs, of course means the Boks win the RWC πŸ˜‰

Nah Buff Boks are def favourites

The reaction will be interesting given we’ve never lost a pool game at any RWC. Hansen will cop it big time I reckon
