St Kents will be in the Co-Ed Top 4 comp this year so only Auckland bragging rights were at stake.

Hmmmm, if Invitational XV is another word for "poachers", then King's and Hamilton Boys definitely deserve that label.

OBHS would have played CBHS so both Otago and Nelson have played a common opponent as a form guide.

@Bovidae I don't think Otago BHS has played CBHS, this year. Not for a spot in the Top 4, anyway. It's Nelson College who beat CBHS in the UC Final and, therefore, qualified for the SI Final.

Bingo. It's a traditional fixture. OBHS won 37-27 in early July.

I'll add that home advantage tends to be important in the Top 4 finals so I would favour Otago.

Pretty ridiculous St Kent’s have dropped back to Co-Ed. That competition was made so lesser rugby schools had something to play for, not for schools full of scholarship players.
