Not fussed if I watch delayed AB games as the semi and final is live on TVNZ, I believe?

I had this attitude until I saw the kickoff times. Perfect viewing time for nz. If it was a European based world cup I'd be ok taking your approach.

Depends how delayed the FTA screenings are

They'll turn plenty of excellent timed broadcasts into just a bit too late (plus drag of adds)

Closer to time I might end up caving in and paying for the package. I mean it's only once every 4 years right? A bit of a bitter pill on top of the monthly I pay to watch football on Spark

@canefan I umm’d and ahh’d for a while but then ended up getting it. FTA are not showing many games and I’ll be wanting to watch a lot of the games that don’t involve the ABs - Wallabies, SA, Ireland, Wales, England and even Argentina who are improving and generally do well at WCs. Heaps of very interesting matches given how even this cup is!

@No-Quarter I think I'll feel more ready to pay if the service stands up to the pressure

Interesting stuff, as airways, by 1014. Worked fine Chrome cast from my PC

Just watched it, interesting reveal at the end
Good episode, and it was just 2 men pointing at numbers ....

What are bars/pubs going to do? Is there a separate arrangement for them? You can't have it on delay there with twitter etc.

It's a bit of a shame really - when living in Aus/NZ it's always a treat when a big tournament of any code is in primetime - I have very fond memories (and lack therof) of the 2003 and 2011 tournaments.

My memory of the 2003 world cup in Australia , was that the timezones during the pool stages were quite annoying.

Nz went to daylight savings time about 3 weeks before Australia , so all these midweek pool games were 11pm starts. I'd fall asleep half an hour into each match.

Seen the kickoff times for this tournament and there are lots of tasty 10:15pm kickoffs. Fuck waiting until 11:30 or12:00 to watch on delay.

The pool stages of this tournament are shaping up great for 3 out of 4 pools, unlike the aforementioned 2003 version where I would wait up late and give up at 28-nil after 20 minutes ... biggest gap between tier 1 and tier 2 pro and amateur, back in 2003.

Yeah, aside from the amazing 2015 winning team, the rest of the wining teams of the pro era were very similar statistically - caps, age, time together (1 game as same 15 during the year leading up to final!), lost last time's QF, etc

No need to answer if you aren't NZ based..

TSF users should be the target market. So interested to see how many are purchasing

I have Spark for the EPL but haven't bought the RWC package yet. I expect any resolve to erode the closer we get to the start of the tourney

Bought the early bird. Excited for the commentary team as Marshy won't be there. Excited for the RWC in general. Hate the business practices of Sky so stoked they don't have it. Though I do wish it would just be free to air anyway but unfortunately that's not how business works.

Got it earlybird. No brainer - streaming is the future, it's useful to get others on there (will be helping at least one older person get it rolling)

I would but every time I try and sign up I get a "We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties" msg.

If they can't have a stable platform to sign up how the fuck are they going to deliver quality broadcasts?

I got in straight away, because the early bird was so cheap. Being easily able to catch some of the other team's big games, on demand at my leisure, makes it worth it even without considerin live ABs games - where I may well be at the pub with Sky

Yep, and a I’m confident the coverage will be far superior to anything Sky has delivered just for the fact that you can watch any game or highlights on demand at your leisure. Good on Spark for taking a risk and paving the way forward.

My only consideration is for some folk in rural areas that pay insanely high prices for dodgy internet, not sure if they’ll realistically be able to get on board.

With MySky I can watch any game on demand at my leisure. I'm not sure how having Spark will make that any better.

In general I much prefer to watch sport on MySky, because the TV remote allows more control with going forward and back at speed than I have ever been able to muster off my phone.

I like the fact that I can watch any game on demand on any device. If I am somewhere in the house away from the decoder I am not limited. I wonder if CF Snr will be able to use my spark account too? I assume it's ok, it would only be two devices running at the same time.....
