Best effort by us for a while - but, where was Australia?
I was expecting a titanic effort to finally snatch away the Bled, but from the first kick-off that nearly went out on the full, they just looked resigned to losing. A very meek effort!
Not wanting to stick the boot into them , but there might be a bit of downhill skier action with them ,
so we probably need to put this win in perspective , enjoy it , but not get carried away

Our criticism of Hansen and co was legit though. Their game plan has been appalling up to now. AND useless we bring the mongrel each week in our tight 5, we will be vulnerable against some sides.
All part of the plan
If the plan requires losing the week before I'm not sure how well that'll work in knock-out rugby
Are we playing knock out rugby yet? Shag is shrewd. Everything is falling into place

It’s one of those funny things. Last week there were differing views - OZ made us look ordinary, we didn’t turn up. The reverse views of both will probably be thrown around post game.
We committed numbers to the ball which hasn’t been a feature. We box kicked from halfback more which we haven’t seen this year. So we made tactical changes and with a pack going forward, we barely gave Oz a sniff.

After all the smoke blown up their razoos Wobblies were resting on their laurels.

Not Shag's plan but BOTH these two games have been great preparation for RWC.

Well done ABs. Pretty proud to be an AB supporter and pull off a win like that after Hansen made a big call to drop two stalwarts
Well said

Awesome effort. The Wallabies looked spooked from the get-go. But it just shows what accuracy and commitment buys you. Read and Aaron Smith the men of the match. Led from the front. But everyone was superb. Ardie was the everready bunny, Whitelock was just so tight, Laulala stood up, ALB is the one centre (inside or outside) you can guarantee for the WC, Sam Cane’s best game in black and the Beau’unga experiment was hard to fault. One only happy that the Mo’unga part of the deal holds up.

I don't think his plan was to lose. But they have been hiding tactics, they have been chopping and changing combinations in TRC. He is looking ahead

please tell me Ardie was man of the match
NZ don't do Man of the match. But he had 13 tackles no misses, not highest tackles (Sam w 17-2) but no misses. Lovely. Along with 66m, 2 clean breaks, 4 defenders beaten. More than the rest of the abs forwards put together

I'm not sure hiding tactics for the past few years is really a sound strategy. I mean, how are you actually going to be prepared to use them?
Dominating Australia when the bounce of the ball is going our way on the back of a humiliating defeat is kind of our minimum expectations.

They weren’t allowed to play well. Plus some -Beale in particular were pea hearted tonight .
-
Sam Whitelock, Colin Meads'esque effort and haircut
-
The best All Black performance since Lions test 1 2017.
Beautiful stuff.
Brilliant tactics in the wet.
Aaron Smith absolutely sensational at halfback.
The tactics were far better. Direct running, kicks turning them around, clearance kicks from the base.
Players with question marks reallt stood up - Mounga, Bridge, Reece, SBW, the loosies, Tuipulotu. Just awesome.
Really hope Mounga is ok.

Ardie was immense tonight. The Cane Read Savea axis looks good

Brainless shit.
Ouch. How much was Coleman in Arnold out a factor? Scrum depowered, and ruck cleanouts much less effective. Former is enthusiastic but another Coles man?
I don't think the scrum was much more than getting outsmarted. Coleman's idiocy at lineout surrendered some early territory.
The ruck work was pretty much everyone. Back to the past.

And 2 line out steals (although, knocked one of them on)
