Defence and slippery conditions won the game for the Warriors. Manly had most of the ball but could only do something with it once Adam Blair was sin binned thanks to another bad call by the refs.

Chanel Harris-Tavita is starting to impress me, had a really great game on both offence and defence. His hit on Tommy Turbo was awesome. Needs to bulk up in the off-season though.

I like some of the young pieces the Warriors have (Harris-Tavita, Lawton, Keighran, Herbert, Pompey, Curran) and they could develop into good players for next season (we're not making the playoffs). Still need to add another big bopper (maybe bring back Manly's Toafofoa Sipley?). Wouldn't waste salary cap space on Manly hooker Koroisau, better off targeting a cheaper option like Canberra Raider Sam Williams.

Players to keep around for next season:
    Fullback: Tuivasa-Sheck, Perham
    Wings: Fusitua, Maumalo, Pompey
    Centres: Hiku, Herbert, Keighran, Milne
    Halves: Nikorima, Harris-Tavita, Green
Backrowers: Harris, Blair, Burr, Curran, Tevaga, Papalii
Frontrowers: Paasi, Afoa, Ah Mau, (free agent)
    Hookers: Lawton, Roache, (free agent)

@Sneakdefreak should never have moved Mason Lino. He and Harris Tevita could have been a future 6-7 axis.
Time to flush a bunch of these older guys down the dunny and start again. We need some aussie steel in the pack. If we can't go out and get a James Graham or a Steve Price type player then go scout out QLD cup and up north to find a hooker, front rower, and or a back rower who has a chip on their shoulder and would kill for a chance to impress on the big stage. Those guys won't fold when the going gets tough

    Qld Cup is pretty shit

I would sell or shoot Blair, and can't see why you would keep papalii unless he's on $60k

Need a good hooker, a dynamic backrower, 2 metre eater tough props, and pace out wide.

That's a lot of holes to fill.

Someone needs to teach Maumalo how to defend. Why he always commits to defending a player already marked while leaving his opposition winger free amazes me.

Given the amount of deliberate filth you see in the NRL, the excuse to give Blair 10 minutes off the field was just laughable.

And what a bizarre re start rule league has. If the ball doesn't travel 10 metres from a kick off, and the opposition takes it and runs off ( before it covers 10 metres), then he's penalised and the nuffy kicker, who can't make 10 metres, gets a penalty on half way!

    Well, I think that's what happened 🤔

Delicious, reports taht the Sharks are already over the cap for next year, and are paying half of their cap to a bunch of absolute busts in Moylan, Woods, Johnson, Dugan, the perpetually suspended Fifita, and the perpetually hurt Graham.

    Great club management.

I watched a bit of that league show last night and they showed what all those players are getting and the peanuts left for the rest of the squad. Geez I hope they finish 9th.

Club to cut all of the above players and resign Gallen on a 10 year extension.

@Magpie_in_aus I swear Gallen is already at least 50% cyborg.

Gallen’s contract was heavily top ended and he is now on a lot less money. That’s fine and probably smart, but when your most important player isn’t even on the above mentioned list, goes to show the diabolical mismanagement by this administration and how they signed these guys.

Couldn’t have happened to a better club....

Since it’s a cold, wet & shitty outside I might as well watch the Warriors get their arses handed to them by the Chooks....

Roosters win 42-6 and the Warriors need to start testing some new guys.

Time to get ready for the NFL season....

    Well the reverse jinx worked.......

    For 5 minutes.

Glad a mate turned up so didn’t watch after we opened the scoring, though it was on in the background.

Glad I had a movie to go to so had to miss from 20 odd to 42.

What a mixed weekend, ABs do the business - yay, Warriors get thumped - shrug my shoulders, but Magpies get a draw but blow a win - I'm still angry about it.

And, following from the AFL thread, Nathan Brown sacked by the knights as well.

Coaches at St George, the Warriors, and North Queensland shuffle their feet fearfully, and try to look as inconspicuous as possible

Considering the Knights have the Panthers, the Tigers, and the Titans to finish, you could easily see them making the 8.

Kearney is laughing at that suggestion.
