I wonder what Janine Southby thinks now?
We know that Langman and Kopua wouldn't have come back for starters.
I feel sorry for her, she should have never got the job in the first place. The rules that sent Langman into exile didn't help either, which falls at the feet of the previous regime

This article explains perfectly all that Taurua did to get the Silver Ferns back as world champs and probably save the sport in the process. Netball NZ needs to do whatever she wants to get her back as head coach.

They can't afford to drop the ball again. I am sure it will not be just about the money as there just isn't that much in netball. But give her a blank page

I agree with your comments, and Poole and Lancaster were to blame for the situation the Silver Ferns found themselves in.
Back to the game, after watching a full replay of the final, Ekenasio was outstanding.

why do they have to do it?
It'd be great if the Netballers got a wad of cash for thier efforts, but...

It's funny that someone could complain about netballers not going paid enough. I'm not sure what the audience in the UK was like. You do have to wonder why the final was in the middle of the night for the two traditionally strongest countries though. Then the highlights package isn't great, hardly selling your sport.
I'm thrilled for the Silver Ferns - I don't think anyone saw this coming a year ago. Taurua must be coach of the year, for sure.

@hydro11 Sky dedicated a channel to Netball throughout the World Cup, plus there were regular segments on all the breakfast shows etc, it's certainly a sport on the rise in the public eye. Maybe they could have played it in the evening, but I doubt that was going to make a huge difference to viewing numbers in NZ and Aus - what time would you propose? Playing in the evening could well have turned people in the UK off too.

It's brought out any number of bandwagoners if FB is anything to go by.

Thanks that's great.

Why doesn't the final just start on Saturday night, giving a Sunday morning viewing time down here. No reason for it to be at five in the evening.

So play the final a handful of hours after the semi final?

They could probably think up something imaginative like having the semi final on a Friday and pushing every thing forward one day.
