CWC - The Other Semi Final

Absolutely smacked. Aus batsmen obviously made the pitch look harder than it was.
Of note for us is the English new ball bowlers were excellent, but everyone else relieved the pressure a fair bit and it was more very poor Aussie batting that lead to further wickets. So digging in for the first 10 and then accelerating as the innings wears on may be a good ploy again.

Didn't expect such a thrashing but the loss want unexpected.
England had their first choice lineup back, and despite his faults, Khawaja was playing at first drop in a steadying role and was missed.
Throw in the form of both Finch and Warner tapering a bit, and you've got issues.
Now please win, Kiwis, as you'll be marginally less insufferable than if England win. 😉

In general, I mean. Not you, personally.
Kiwi players unlikely to get knighthoods etc
Finch being reasonable:
-
Game was over at 3/15.
Finch and Warner held our team together for the first 6-7 games. Once their form fell away, so did the rest of the team.
Meanwhile Bairstow and Roy surged when it was needed, and have pulled England through their last three games.

All these teams look far more dangerous than NZ .... Until they don't. Yesterday being a good example.
Yup, NZ has some vastly underrated players. Take Matt Henry, for example.
Should have been dropped for Southee by now..
I know. In the ‘context’ of things Henry’s stats are a complete fluke. I definitely want him gone for the final.

I have it in for Aussie, but I'll be the first to say injuries did decimate the middle order. They sorely lacked a Waugh/Bevan/Hussey type in the middle order to provide a bit of grit and play a real innings. They do shoot themselves in the foot picking Maxwell though - it reminds me of Oram at times every game the myth of his hitting ability is trundled out by the commentary team only to play yet another insignificant knock.
Wade probably was worth a run over Hanscomb. Potentially could have called Bancroft in as injury cover instead? May not have helped the middle order but Starc would have swung it more.

Ouch.
Australia’s Hopes For National Sporting Success Now Pinned On Wallabies
WENDELL HUSSEY | Cadet |CONTACT
In a frightening prospect for our country, national hopes for sporting success are now pinned on the national Rugby Union team.
Following months of expectation, excitement and positivity, the country’s women’s soccer team and now men’s cricket team have had their hopes for glory dashed.
This comes after the old foe knocked us out of the World Cup in the Semi-Final overnight after a commanding display with the ball.
The 8 wicket victory for the English leaves Australia now looking to the last remaining notable World Cup this year for glory.
“Fuck,” said a spokesperson for the nation out the front of the Lord Kidman Hotel in the Old City District this morning.
“This is not good. Pinning anything other than disappointment on the Wallabies is a bad, bad idea.”
“And now we are pinning our hopes for national glory on them.”
“Jesus this is bad. Let’s hope New Zealand’s first three strings of teams all go down injured and the Fijian’s have a bad day when we come up against them in the group.”
The spokesperson explained how after an Origin defeat on Wednesday night and the impending bottom of the ladder finish for his baby Broncos he’s feeling desperate.
“Let’s go you Wallabies I guess”
“At least we’ve got Ash Barty.”

Just seen the Jason Roy tantrum.
What a massive dickhead. Show some class. Should be banned for that
Where does it fit on the Scale of Haddin according to @MN5 ?
You’ll need to provide a link and I’ll let you know but Haddin will take some beating I’ll tell you that right now.

World championships start just as cricket finishes but worryingly for oz the diamonds are not expected to win especially after losing the final of the comm games at home to the poms. Jamaica are also a shot at the title
Silver Ferns will rely on a favourable draw to make the semis - sound familiar- but then will crash and burn
