CWC Semi Final - Black Caps v India

Rain!!? aw man. Would really suck for weather to mess with our semi. Especially after it was so obliging in washing out our last fixture with India and getting us across the line to the knock out stage.
I think there is a spare day for Semis and also Finals

Both days have a chance of light rain, looking at the hourly forecast for tomorrow it looks more likely it will be delayed and/or limited overs than cancelled.
Which means you win the toss and bowl so you know your DRS target?
-
Maybe Jimmy Neesham does his best Grant Elliott imitation in a rain delayed semifinal.
-
@hydro11 I get the temptation of Munro, as well - but, he's pretty much wishful thinking. Him making some runs in that first game was a negative to our overall campaign. I think we play Nicholls and ask him to play out Bumrah. The die is cast really.
What we badly need is for Guppy to catch fire - a bit of moisture in the air and some swing for Trent might not be bad thing either!

DLS - but I guess you still need to analyse the pitch / conditions /likelihood of rain, etc.
Ideally India get what we got last match. Effectively Bumrah out before the match, lose toss, pitch changes, Rohit strangled, poor umpiring dismissal for Rahul (won't happen 'cause India), Kohli finger tip run out. 3 down for 20 and we are in with a chance.

@MN5 you can see much they love the game through their writing.
That stat though - 71 innings since the CWC15 and 44 times he's been out in the middle within the first five overs. That looks like a reflection of Munro consistently getting out early.
Almost makes you think we should just open with Kane and bolster the middle order.
-
@No-Quarter they should have played Latham as a specialist opener and the previously in form blundell as keeper batsman

Oh yeah they sure do and the article is brilliant if you read it in an indian accent out loud. Fucken good shit, their passion is awesome.
Those stats written down are pretty damn horrible, he's out there in the first FIVE overs 61% of the time !!!!

@MN5 Enjoyed that.
Some of the stats in cricket are great - the % balls faced "in control" for example. Very subjective (like rugby tackles successful) but interesting none the less, and the top of that list show why they score the most runs.
Well, to put it in a much less eloquent way.
We are fucked beyond belief if he doesn't score big.

Agreed, but most teams are. Rohit and Kohli are India's Kane and Rossco. Their supporting cast are a lot better than ours though.
@rotated Yeah, just because we are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get us (and you may well be onto it early).

Might be putting the cart before the horse but I certainly hope that Boon and the umpires are as impartial as possible when it comes to subjective calls like whether to attempt a 23 over aside game with the weather clearing or abandon etc.
You're a bit old to be believing we might be cut an even break in the ICWC!

Wouldn't it be funny if it ended up being another Aus/NZ final.
Funny indeed given our recent play has been nothing short of a joke.

I'm not so sure about that I think the problem has been some diabolical form from guys you'd hoped would have done better ( Guptill and Latham mainly )
