Oz scoring rate woefully slow in the 1st 30 overs.
That said, India bowled really well and Carey played a very special innings. Looks a class player.

Australia 316 all out, including an amazing 50 off 25 balls from Alex Carey. Tame stuff apart from that.
India win by 36 runs. A brutal reality check.
The fact we got within 40 runs is encouraging. I'm thinking Lyons was a better spin option than Zampa TBH.
But it's India's cup to lose from here

@Paekakboyz having been around these chumps nearly 20 years, I'm sure you're wrong

Like us Aussie are pretty reliant on taking wickets at the top with their two strike bowlers. The rest looked pretty ineffective, though it was a flat deck against the best batting lineup in the world.
India are going to be tough to beat. We really need a green wicket against them or we're no chance.

I think both England and India will be very tough to beat. India's bowlers shade England's IMO, but the poms batting line-up might be longer and stronger. There can be only one.
However, on their day, Oz, NZ, Windies and maybe even Pakistan could roll either.

@NTA being wrong is a core part of the fern experience!!
Don't tell me, you hit the bails, they lit up, but no wicket??
I'm happy to say that I scored freely but had a very energetic and willing partner 😉

Smiling aussie cricketers while losing was a new experience, even under the pump staring at 350 plus and laughs all round. Not bad per se, but odd.
Flat wicket that dulled the ball. Fielders throwing it into the ground after 6 overs. But a pitch suited to India, who, it must be said have seamers and spinners in equal measure. The asy wristy singles to leg off pace showed the banality of the surface.
Australia weren't bad, it's just that India are good, really good. Pandya innings highlighted that, promoted up the order and delivers just what they asked for.
No more Zampa I think, but otherwise Aus will have to win games with the bat because the swing bowler's are getting none, well at the Oval anyway.
Funny that we beat India easy at the oval, all due to about 5 to 10 mms of grass.
Oh well, you only need to beat India once, and the round Robin is not the time. Australian matches are must watch now to see how they rise from this. Will be big games vs us and England
