@Tim all these signings from other franchises and not a. peep coming out of the Blues..plenty of gaps to fill but you have got to say most of the talent is locked away already ..
I am hoping somewhere in the back room there’s some sort of recruitment plan going on...
Just bugs me that the franchises appear to be locking in their squads nice and early..

Article by Paul Culley on stuff hints at Will Jordan moving to the Highlanders
    link text

Cully is fishing, that's all. I believe it once it's confirmed by the franchise.

Promising outside backs in the the baby All Blacks include Northland wing Scott Gregory and Bay of Plenty pair Lalomilo Lalomilo and Cole Forbes.

Stuff understands Crusaders No 10 Mitch Hunt will also be joining the franchise and he won't be the last, although Clark wouldn't bite when asked if the Highlanders had also pursued brilliant young Crusaders fullback Will Jordan, who is off contract.

Who was the last NZ player to use an "out-clause" to move to another franchise? Nonu?

Lomax's partner got a job in Wellington, he probably got a release because of that. Not all employers are cnuts

Nic Berry would have got a lot of credit if he'd stood up to Marius with a "Sorry Marius, that looks like it's gone back to me - it's certainly not clear and obvious".

That was my immediate reaction - no worries with that, we'll get that try.

Late reply but in the Highlanders stormers game the tmo hurriedly tried to award a try where the winger was clearly not even or behind the kicker (after 1 camera angle) and Berry correctly stood his ground and overruled him.

Good reffing, questionable haste from tmo

@Machpants IIRC, the Lomax brothers were from Wellington too.

@Stargazer Excellent news. I think Lomax will be the first-choice AB tighthead next year. First world class Hurricanes prop in a long time.

Matching up the Crusaders vs Canes XV's next year and you have one ding dong battle, shame we can't get Lomax for the playoffs this year: this is also assuming Beaudy takes a sabbatical.

    1. Moody > Armstrong
    2. Taylor 'EVEN' Coles
    3. Ala'alatoa < Lomax
    4. Barrett > Scrafton
    5. Strange 'EVEN' Walker Leawere
    6. Blackadder < Fifita
    7. Harmon < Savea
    8. Douglas < Evans
    9. Hall < Perenara
    10. Mo'unga > Garden-Bachop
    11. Bridge > Lam
    12. Goodhue > Laumape
    13. Ennor 'EVEN' Aso
    14. Reece 'EVEN' Goosen
    15. Havili < Barrett

    Havili < Barrett is questionable.
Not sure about Armstrong to be the starting LHP. I would opt for Toby Smith.

@cgrant I've been happy with Armstrong this year. Great workrate and has scrummaged well for us, even when Toomaga Allen has been getting shafted on the other side. I think long term Numia is the man though.

Bouncing around the house at the prospect of Tyrell Lomax joining the Canes next year.

Now we need Beauden and Jordie to sign on for next year.

@Higgins I don't mind Garden Bachop, he has looked better than F Smith and Marshall at 10. I'd like to see McClutchie there but I don't think he will be ready by next year.

Using the "readiness" criteria that would count out Garden-Bachop at first five for life

@Higgins haha not a fan? I thought he was good for Wellington this year. Fletcher Smith has been poor from the minutes he's played and Marshall was crap in that loss to the Jaguares. Don't have too many options really so hopefully Beaudy re-signs and plays Super.

@Canes4life IMO Garden-Bachop is the worst of the four. The Canes are in deep shit if BB is unavailable next season, unless they find a good 10 somewhere (Marshall hasn't re-signed yet, either).

@Stargazer I wouldn't say deep shit but losing Beaudy isn't ideal. I disagree, Fletcher Smith has been god damn aweful in his appearances so far this year. He has a weak boot aswell. Garden-Bachop is second for me and didn't really get much opportunity to show his wares before injury struck. The one time he came off the bench he set up a try against the Crusaders, more than both Marshall and Smith have done.

I would think Jordan will get a lot more minutes at full back next year
