@Nepia They don't seem that interested in social media at all. They only use FB and one third of their posts are about their sponsors. Apparently, rugby fans aren't important and they don't understand that good communication with rugby fans creates interest in playing and watching rugby (so can increase playing numbers and bums on seats during M10 Cup).
I guess as they're doing relatively well financially (when compared to other rugby entities) they don't have the ability to look wider when it comes to marketing and promotion.

The Pirates Club seem to acknowledge their sponsors nicely in their team naming sheet although I am somewhat distressed to see the Meeanee Hotel (actually pretty much during my entire life it has been called the Plumpton Park Hotel) as one of their backers.
-
@Stargazer also Fletcher Smith playing in same team.
-
Also back to Chch? Should we read anything into this? He's a Nelsonian, who first went to Nelson College, then Christchurch Boys HS.
-
Yeah just posted this on the Hurricanes thread. Have they both signed to play for Canterbury?
-
@African-Monkey Cridge should still be contracted to Hawke's Bay. Don't know about Smith.

Watched Hastings beat Havelock 53-24, halftime 36-0, so Havelock won the second half.
Danny Toala played first five-eighth for Hastings, Jason Long limped off injured in the second half.
Devan Flanders was there carrying out the tee for Havelock. He and Kianu Kereru-Symes are not allowed to play before the NZ Under 20's assemble again.

Bits and pieces from the HBT club rugby write-up:
Along with Emerson first five-eighth Danny Toala and halfback Jayden Rihia excelled in the winning backline. Blockbusting No 8 Danya Tulou and prop Josiah Tavita-Metcalfe were inspirational in the winning pack.
.
Sorry, @Higgins, I'm not sure you can continue bragging about Tech's win.A controversial penalty try had tongues wagging after this Altherm Window Systems Napier Technical victory at Tamatea Park. "It was one of a couple of dubious calls from Jarrod [referee Graham] and it's going to take me a couple of days to get over this loss," Tanalised Napier Pirate Rugby and Sports manager Charles Reid lamented. Texans manager Cyril Whitburn was quick to console Reid. "Yes I'm scratching my head about that penalty try. That's a get out of jail card for us and we will take it," Whitburn said.
.
Not again!Tech missed the services of Magpies props Mark Braidwood and Tim Farrell with injuries.
Fullback ...
Magpies first five-eighth Lincoln McClutchie was again classy in the fullback position.

I was at the NOBM MAC game. MAC got off to a flier on the back of 4-5 straight penalties and were up 12-0. Then Zac Donaldson came on to replace an injured Ellery Wilson, and turned things around. It was a close game until the final 20 when NOB pulled away with a bunch of tries.
The debut #10 for NOB Bain Champion kicked well but was average in game management. When Jonny Lauano came on as replacement first five is when NOB scored all their late tries, but that could also be due to MAC tiring badly. MAC got a couple of yellow cards for some blatent foul play when they started to leak a few tries, and I thought that there was going to be an all-in fight a few times, but the officials managed to keep it under control as it got niggly
Best for the good guys were Saia Paese at 13, and Sean Skeet at lock.
I'm not sure what happened in the colts game beforehand, but by the time I arrived at the ground, the rescue helicopter was being loaded with someone on a stretcher.
