The duration of his contract with the Bay hasn't been published, but if it runs parallel to that of his Canes' contract, he'll be off-contract and free to sign anywhere else.

@Nepia Could also be another reason why the HBRFU appear to have signed Isaia Walker-Leawere. Still no official announcement about it yet I see.

@Stargazer Bloody typical, we front for his wage bill for years for an almost nil return and when he finally might not be a season ticket holder in the casualty ward of the local hospital he departs. That might not be his first choice of course as maybe he might not have been offered another HBRFU contract as their patience might finally have run out.

I wish all Premiers squad lists were published by the HBRU (like Waikato does, for example), or by the teams themselves. Only a few do ... like

It's weird that there are easy things that the HBRU can do like this bit they just don't seem that interested.

@Nepia They don't seem that interested in social media at all. They only use FB and one third of their posts are about their sponsors. Apparently, rugby fans aren't important and they don't understand that good communication with rugby fans creates interest in playing and watching rugby (so can increase playing numbers and bums on seats during M10 Cup).

I guess as they're doing relatively well financially (when compared to other rugby entities) they don't have the ability to look wider when it comes to marketing and promotion.

The Pirates Club seem to acknowledge their sponsors nicely in their team naming sheet although I am somewhat distressed to see the Meeanee Hotel (actually pretty much during my entire life it has been called the Plumpton Park Hotel) as one of their backers.

    @98blueandgold

Also back to Chch? Should we read anything into this? He's a Nelsonian, who first went to Nelson College, then Christchurch Boys HS.

Yeah just posted this on the Hurricanes thread. Have they both signed to play for Canterbury?

@African-Monkey Cridge should still be contracted to Hawke's Bay. Don't know about Smith.

Why would we need Fletcher Smith when we already have Lincoln McClutchie?

@Higgins I don't think anyone suggested Smith signing for the Bay. It was about both him and Cridge playing for HSOB in Chch instead of their usual club.

Alby Hemopo at 7 for Havelock North is a brother of Jackson Hemopo.

No Tim Farrell for Tech OB

Watched Hastings beat Havelock 53-24, halftime 36-0, so Havelock won the second half.

Danny Toala played first five-eighth for Hastings, Jason Long limped off injured in the second half.

Devan Flanders was there carrying out the tee for Havelock. He and Kianu Kereru-Symes are not allowed to play before the NZ Under 20's assemble again.

Everyone seems to be very quiet about this result so I will do the honours

Napier Technical Old Boys 19 (M Fox, M Semba, penalty try tries; L Shaw con)
Napier Pirate Rugby and Sports 16 (R Hubbard try; Z Clarke 3 pens, con). HT: Pirate 9-5.

    😄
