Reports we are about to buy Kodi Nikorima
I bet it's on massive overs and he continues to suck.
Means Green could be out longer than expected. Kodi Nikorima can be a halves option this season and replaces Luke as starting hooker next season. I'm good with that plus we have the cap space.

Entirely dependent on the size of the contract
Bit of an injury crisis around the league at the moment. There are a heap of guys out. And with Origin coming up, Qld may battle to find 17 fit players (a different problem to them having to find 17 players in form).
Top 8 has grabbed a bit of a gap on the rest, with a heap of teams on 2-5 records already 2 wins out.

Some interesting musings from Kemp this morning on RS. He reckons there is less money in the coffers post-SJ than people might believe. Wondered if salary cap issues were playing a role with us not chasing a legit top drawer half like Pearce. He doesn't think Nikora is a bad buy, but that he's in the 300k range, rather than closer to the million that SJ was getting (or was close to).
Also some interesting talk about clubs that have heaps of players (and the coach) under one player agent. Sounds like the Warriors and Broncos have an agent that looks after a shed load of their players - so who is actually driving recruitment, or swapping players around between clubs etc? That could be a secondary (or primary) market place, then the clubs find out last!
-
@Paekakboyz I don't think we have a million in cap space but rather 500k and that's still enough to acquire decent pieces. If Kodi is around 300k then sign him up, that's a good deal in today's NRL and I would see him as the starting hooker come 2020.
Re: agents, that's quite common knowledge and is the norm across most pro-sports league (my NHL team I follow refuses to sign a certain agent's clients).

It’s the Warriors way.

I don’t care about the “ref” controversy, it’s just another smokescreen for this shit arse club. Maybe 0.1% of their shitness is down to poor refereeing but that leaves the bulk down to them.
Also, don’t care if we pay overs for Nikorima as we’re the type of idiot club who plays a second rower in the halves - not a ball playing backrower like a Dymock or Jason Smith but a straight up backrower. We need a half now.
The Kata compassionate leave is more weird bullshit from this club. Why can’t they just drop him and admit they dropped him?
We’ve supposedly got the best CEO, the best talent spotter (who the rest of the comp considers dodgy as fuck), and apparently we have the best coach because he just signed a multi year deal. But really they’re all cabbage.
I usually get to about June/July before I get this pissed off with the Warriors.

I'm not pissed off this year. We were pretty good last year, so the Warriors Way means that this year we will suck. Circle of Life and all that.
Managing your (lack of ) expectation is the key.
-
Have we just signed him for 500 fucking K a year!! Aggh. Wonder what the agents totally $$ is annually from warriors players and coach!!
-
@mariner4life I try to manage my expectations - but I’ve been told by too many leaguies that Cameron George is the man and it will all be gravy for the Warriors.
I’m like the Warriors of managing expectations.
-
Nikorima's debarture from the Broncos seems to be going well...
He'll either turn up sulky and sad, or hyper-motivated. Given our history i know which one i am banking on...
-
@mariner4life on what I've heard about his demeanor etc I'd expect chipper. Wasn't he close to be dropped as a starter to? Fresh club and a familiar coach might be a nice change.
Or it all just goes to shit!

Its the warriors. He’ll probably spend all his time at KFC

Nikorima for halfa mill????
I should lock the thread now.
-
Moved to Australia as a 12 year old , so might explain having to pay him overs to relocate I guess .

Off topic, but Walsh (Douin's agent amongst others)?

pffft, how about "do you want a job bro? Or do you want to play in the Qld Cup? Okay, here's $300k and a first grade spot"
