Until next season that is. -
Ouch. I couldn't bring myself to watch so was keeping track of the score. Saw we edged them at halftime and was too scared to look at the result until this morning. We just don't know how to close out tight games, especially against the top drawer teams.
Haven't seen footage of the dodgy calls, but nothing surprises me with calls going against the Warriors. It feels like we cut ourselves then the refs come an squeeze some lemon juice into it!
Did hear a lot of credit going to our replacement centre on debut, dare we believe this could be the end for Kata??
-
@Paekakboyz Patrick Herbert was very good at centre, particularly on defense.
He was a stud fullback in rugby for St Kents during his school years. Never thought I'd see him playing for the Warriors one day.
-
The pressure will be on to keep Herbert in the line up. Hiku has the other centre position. If the front office are smart they'll try to offload Kata or Beale to another NRL/Superleague club to free up more cap to add a decent halfback for depth.

The warriors can fuck you over in so many ways (lesson again dont bet on a warriors game).
Had 3 leg multi all margins. First two came in. Third was storm 13+ 25 into $280.
Ended up cashing out for a small (very small) profit as I wanted to support the warriors.
Then we get fucked with no lube and lose by 1 anyway.
Still feel dirty. I feel like two warriors teams would have hurt lots of peoples multis yesterday. Golden State losing to Clippers and warriors getting robbed.
-
Things i have learned today:
General consensus is we got robbed yesterday
Adam Blair ran the ball once all game. -
@mariner4life I wonder what it'd feel like to be on the winning side and reading how the other team got stitched up for a change? ... I bet that feels really good.
sigh

I laughed when the comms mentioned how bad our right side D has been all season and that they must have done a lot of work midweek because it was solid last night 🤔

Put a fork in the Cowboys, they are as cooked as the warriors
-
Kata was dropped for the ANZAC game due to "compassionate grounds". He played in the NSW Cup today which means "compassionate grounds" is code for "we dropped his arse but didn't want to admit it to fans".

Hopefully after the Anzac game that kid on debut has done enough to keep Kata out for at least one more week

Reports we are about to buy Kodi Nikorima
I bet it's on massive overs and he continues to suck.

Means Green could be out longer than expected. Kodi Nikorima can be a halves option this season and replaces Luke as starting hooker next season. I'm good with that plus we have the cap space.

Entirely dependent on the size of the contract
Bit of an injury crisis around the league at the moment. There are a heap of guys out. And with Origin coming up, Qld may battle to find 17 fit players (a different problem to them having to find 17 players in form).
Top 8 has grabbed a bit of a gap on the rest, with a heap of teams on 2-5 records already 2 wins out.

Some interesting musings from Kemp this morning on RS. He reckons there is less money in the coffers post-SJ than people might believe. Wondered if salary cap issues were playing a role with us not chasing a legit top drawer half like Pearce. He doesn't think Nikora is a bad buy, but that he's in the 300k range, rather than closer to the million that SJ was getting (or was close to).
Also some interesting talk about clubs that have heaps of players (and the coach) under one player agent. Sounds like the Warriors and Broncos have an agent that looks after a shed load of their players - so who is actually driving recruitment, or swapping players around between clubs etc? That could be a secondary (or primary) market place, then the clubs find out last!
-
@Paekakboyz I don't think we have a million in cap space but rather 500k and that's still enough to acquire decent pieces. If Kodi is around 300k then sign him up, that's a good deal in today's NRL and I would see him as the starting hooker come 2020.
Re: agents, that's quite common knowledge and is the norm across most pro-sports league (my NHL team I follow refuses to sign a certain agent's clients).
