NRL 2019

In other silly news of silliness, the Sharks are interested in making Phil Gould their new General Manager following his successful
fivesixseveneight year plan at Penrith. -
that was more that I think those two pretty much are the top 4 - or lets just say the top two. 2-4 is only slightly less murky than 5-8

The Warriors only get to play the Bulldogs and the Titans twice, the rest of the time they have to play actual NRL teams.

Bottom four ranking for people on TSF who don't get initial sarcasm:
- Infrequent poster who has had one too many drinks tonight and still blames Wayne Barnes for the 2007 RWC
- M4L
- Budding right-wing extremists on the political forum page
- Nepia

Suckful day of sports for me, my Winnipeg Jets lose a tight game and then the Warriors follow it up by losing in the final two minutes against the Bunnies.
Despite the choke, the Warriors played valiantly considering they lost Blake Green to injury during warm ups.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is still in sublime Dally M form but needs more playmakers up front (and not getting injured prior to kick off).
But in saying that, Chanel Harris-Tevita was very good and showed skill through-out the game. Fortunately he was helped by Peta Hiku, Tohu Harris and Gerard Beale to execute set plays.
The turning point in the match was in the 65th minute when Isaac Luke, having subbed back on to lead the team in the final 20, got knocked out by a Souths player's knee when he fell passing the ball. He. Was. Knocked. The. Fuck. Out. After that, the team just had zero direction and Souths were able to score the game winner.
The team would have been fine had there been another playmaker on the bench but Kearney had sent Karl Lawton back to Auckland to play in a NSW Cup game. In a team lacking playmakers, as well as the two veteran playmakers carrying injuries, it makes sense to keep a bench spot available for a Karl Lawton, Sam Cook, Nathaniel Roache (if healthy) or Api Pewhairangi. Kearney usually only uses three bench players in a game so it's not like we're losing anything. Rather have an average playmaker than an average big bopper on the bench.
Most of the Souths tries were scored down Kata's channel but in fairness he pulled a hammy early in the game so was limited in his movement. Will probably miss next week's match.

Wow - G.I calls it a career.
-
@Sneakdefreak Wow that is big news. Poor guy, no matter what he says it really feels like he hasn't been able to steer his exit the way he'd want to. Has been a massive performer and in his prime he was a freak athlete. Loved to hate him as a Blues supporter, lol and as a Kiwi's supporter... and as a supporter of anyone but the Broncs!
Go well GI - I hope he has lots of success and personal fulfillment from whatever comes after his playing career.

Reckon he played his best football in his storm years , he was leaner , faster , and injury free ,
Great player and nice guy , who was always up for a chat with anyone .

And who wouldn’t when you’re on a big contract plus getting a little on the side in a brown paper bag

Kata has a corked thigh and Kearney anticipates he will be available this week though. He could have "rested" him. Like a soft unofficial dropping. But no.
And that right there is why this team is doomed. You can see the issues with his defense & his white line fever. But still, Kearney continues to select him when Beale is a more capable defender and will feed our wingers.
Kearney is killing us by continually picking what is essentially a liability on offense as well as defense that gasses out at the 60min mark every game. So yeah, I can't see us winning many with Kearney controlling this team going forward.
-
Kearney sticks with the same line up although Green will probably miss the Saturday night game against the Cowboys. Kata remains sadly and it is time a journalist asks the question to Kearney: "What do you see in Kata that fans, pundits, analysts, the entire masses, do not?"
