JDS is an elite heavyweight and they need to stop treating him like a gatekeeper.

I used to be a massive fan of his especially around the time he made his Championship run. He, for whatever reason, was the guy that made me more of an MMA fan. He has the BJJ to fall back on but uses his boxing instead. I liked his back story, toy shop owner, and he was different in that he didn't have a trophy wife(far, far, so far from that...). Then he got Nike sponsorship and went a bit Hollywood. HAs the PED issue(although resolved) and dumped his poor mrs for a newer model.

Still he's a good guy and the UFC need to treat him like the HOF fighter he probably is. Title fight please.

    Agreed. Great win. Multi-skilled.

    And Neko Price. Yes man.

@Duluth Bisping was their guy. He was the big money guy. Totally never supposed to be a champion but he got the strap and in the most unlikely of ways. Has always been outspoken but as it turns out is a pretty likeable guy.

Rags to riches (read TUF to UFC Champeen).

    Perfect story, perfect TV.

Till needs to wise up and stop being a Chav.

Get to the gym, get smarter, get title.

What's wrong with Jorge. He was the massive underdog who delivered on his promise.

    Cracking finish.

    Not convinced with Edwards.

It was not a comment on the fight. It was a comment on Jorge being a twat.

I've heard Bisping tell a few stories about him on his podcast, so I held this opinion prior to the weekend. But consider what happened backstage after the fight

Edwards says something to Jorge about fighting in June. Jorge leaves and interview and follows him across the room. Then as they come together Jorge throws a punch.
Standard dickish stuff from both of them and then Jorge escalates it with a punch

    Not a huge deal

Then Jorge has an interview where he claims to be the victim. He claims Edwards was the aggressor. He claims to be shaking from fear and then says that he threw the first punch because he was fearing for his life

If you're a loose cannon who throws punches backstage after a fight - own it. There's plenty of nutters in the ufc who do stupid shit.

But to be a loose cannon who throws punches backstage and then lies about basic facts and plays the victim.. that is a twat.

Yeah there's still questions about him. But the way he controlled Gunnar was impressive

One good win against a top 5 guy and they can put him in a title fight with a straight face.

That might happen next time they go back to London. Some of the other Brits need to have a run of good results before they can headline an event again (Till 2 losses, Manuwa 3 losses in a row)

Meanwhile Edwards is on a 7 fight win streak with his last loss coming against the current champ. He'd need to get past a guy like Thompson or RDA first though

    Yep.

Just watched it - away on holiday and remarkably managed to avoid the result.

Think people have worked 'Wonderboy' out.

    Hell of a finish.

Anyone following the twitter exchange between Khabib & McGregor?
Pretty serious stuff when one person can't take an offensive joke from a shit talker. I wonder if it will be enough to create a rematch?

Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov Twitter war turns ugly

The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor continues to grow uglier.

Surely the best response to McGregor is simply a gif from the fight.

I'm really looking forward to the two main fights this weekend

    Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier
    Kelvin Gastelum vs Israel Adesanya

    Both tough to call

I think Holloway is the best fighter in the organisation. His class should edge it.. Not putting any money on it though

I'll be cheering for Adesanya but this is going to be a tough one. Everyone talks about KG's punching power but his wrestling background might be the decider here.
Israel keeps talking up his ability on the ground but we haven't seen that tested yet

I'm still hoping for a NZ v Aus title fight... and even the remote possibility it happens in Auckland

The Adesanya fight was incredible. Worth finding if you are a causal fan

2-2 going into the 5th and Adesanya pulls out a massive 10-8 round

NZ has an interim champ. NZ vs Aus for the real belt later this year

The main event was almost as good as the co-main. The best PPV for a while

Poirier dominated apart from a few moments. Unfortunately it looked like guys in different weight classes fighting.. Holloway is so tough though

I hope Poirier knocks Khabib out

Earlier Rountree was very good too. Brutal leg kicks. Maybe he's turned the corner... the LHW division needs some more class
