@Smudge i'm a member there, because Mrs Mariner hates GA. The members lounge is pretty nice, i assume you were in the restaurant there?
Didn't punt much on the weekend thankfully, so actually managed to be slightly up after getting on a roughie in Perth...
This season if you want to win money, bet on any Godolphin horse paying about $10. Sure to win. They are fucking killing it.
Yep, this one - https://www.gctc.com.au/the-gallery-restaurant/

@Smudge nice. They looked the fucking go at Magic Millions but apparently i would have already needed to book 12 months out to get a table!
It was a feature day on Saturday but there were still a few spare tables! Can thoroughly recommend to others.

PS: If you're really keen, you can pay $85 for an unlimited beverage package . . .
I just went for two bottles of Chandon Brut during my afternoon's punting, which pretty much worked out the same anyway.

Agree - follow godolphin, dunn, stokes, mcdonald. These stables are flying at the moment

Four Group 1s at Rosehill tomorrow. I went to Slipper day last year and it was awesome (fucking terrible day on the punt though, jesus. I think the only thing i got was the token bet on Winx just to say i had something on her when i watched her run).
I've got early ones on Time to Reign and Pin Sec based purely on the expectation of a wet track. But the Slipper is open as fuck.

Cosmic force very popular given the wet track. Got smashed in from $51 after last weeks win. My mate at Snowden racing reckons Pin Sec will be hardest to beat. Ive got an early one on Anaheed at $41 so hoping puts in a good run but really tough race to pick.
Lots of kiwis over this weekend. Rosehill race 1 has Avantage and very keen to see how it measures up. Resin looks very good but keep an eye on Serene Miss. Could run a big race at odds.
Keen to see how The Autumn Sun goes too over the 2000m. Not sure it can be that far back this time on the heavy track. A few kiwis in that race including Crown Prosecutor which given it is likely to be leading or close to it and also coming back from 2400m, could be the last horse that The Autumn Sun has to get by to win. Jmac on board too!

Autumn Sun does it tough every time. Arrogant just pushed him all the way.

Cheers for the Advantage tip too

How good was that!! So awesome to see kiwi horses turn up and deliver in Aus. Really gutsy to fight back and win after resin got ahead

Great. Because I got that and one in Mornington, and nothing else all day

I read about that. I see they have 80% racing share but do they own the horse? Was it the lessor that tried to retrieve the horse?
That was out of it.

You would think if it was the lessor and they had a legal right then they would do at daytime tho through normal practices
They would have no legal right though if they had leased the horse out (which is usually until they up until the end of their 5 year old season).

Ahh. Just thought if hadnt paid up leasing fees etc (dunno how it works ie, all up front or monthly / annually etc) then there would be a right by the lessor to take it back

The only leases I have seen for horses are no fees at all but sometimes 10% of winning stakes.
Generally Fillies so that hopefully you get a decent broodmare out of it. I have seen the odd Gelding too but they are usually short term leases so that the lessee and lessor can sell it and both benefit.

I don’t think they own it - pretty sure they have a leased share, but my understanding is that things are in order on their side.
It’s super scary - something worth that much being rabbitted around your property at night - included get off and bolting around for a bit apparently - then being shoved onto a float in the middle of the night. I think it’d never been on a float either. Lucky the thing didn’t end up getting hurt.
