The Chiefs will be rolling out in an updated adidas version of their 1996 jersey against the Canes this weekend. Only 300 of which will be for sale plus some signed ones to be auctioned on trademe. Oops. Yes 3. I think I even went to a final at EP, against the Shawks. Or was it a SF? Easy to get a ticket on the terraces in those days, sun in the eyes due to the afternoon kickoff

No, you were correct, first two only and then the Crusaders won in 1998 on the back of some dubious reffing.
I remember making a blue mouthguard for James Kerr back in the day when he was playing for the Blues (I don't know why he didn't get a complimentary one from the blues). A year later I saw it as he smiled after scoring in the final for the Saders vs the Blues

I specifically mentioned that game. The whole point is that I went to see my heroes (even if they were wearing Blues jersies) in the flesh and they played like utter shit and were mercilessly raped by the Reds. Which goes back to my original point that the Blues didn't always win, in fact they suffered an appalling loss that season.
The Canes came the next year, were 0-19 down and then proceeded to annihilate the Reds. Was glorious. Cullen was well contained, but Tana cut loose.
