Waratahs vs Hurricanes

@antipodean The rest of that Tahs side looks fairly stacked with Wallabies though, will be a bloody tough job going over there and tipping them over without much of a tight five and no Beaudy.
I'm picking they will run with something like this:
- ? 2. Latu 3. Kepu 4. Simmons 5. Hollaway 6. Hannigan 7. Hooper 8. Dempsey 9. Phipps/Gordon 10. Foley 11. Rona 12. Beale 13. Hunt 14. Ashley Cooper 15. Folau

@antipodean Sounds like it will be a good crowd though - there's talk of it being a sellout at Brookvale.
I'm waiting on two options for free tickets - hopefully I don't miss out on buying tickets if they don't come through.

Saturday evening in Manly, very nice. Two problems; Manly residents and capacity.
-
@antipodean third problem - the state of the pitch.

Yes, we should win comfortably.

From yesterdays news on a fairly hefty injury toll to the tight five I think the 23 to face the Tahs will look somthing like this:
- Armstrong
- Coles (c)
- Eves
- Cridge
- Walker-Leawere
- Fifita
- Henwood
- Savea
- Perenara
- Smith
- Lam
- Laumape
- Proctor
- Aso
- Barrett
- Aumua
- Numia
- May
- Mitchell
- Blackwell
- Christie
- Garden Bachop
- Rayasi
-
@Canes4life at least the backline will get a lot of tackle practice before the big games.
-
@Canes4life It will be interesting to compare some of the team selections over the next few months with those of last season. Where does the new coach differ from the previous one, in case he has (almost) the same players available in some positions.

Ha ha! Good one! Super Rugby selling out big stadiums in Oz in Summer!

I wouldn't call Brookvale Oval a big stadium but...
Last year's Australian conference champions are tracking for a rare sellout in their season-opener against the Hurricanes at Brookvale Oval on Saturday night.
Well colour me shocked and pleasantly wrong!

Brookvale is a toilet
Also, for most of the year

@mariner4life describes most of the NRL's "suburban" grounds. They're fucking awful.
-
@KiwiMurph well that's a lottery
-
@antipodean A lottery would be O'Thief as the main ref (sorry Brumbies-Rebels). Gardner is the reigning World Rugby Referee of the Year.

WHich should tell you two things:
- the state of refereeing generally, and
- the ability of World Rugby to determine a good ref.
