    It wasn't Ringrose but Stockdale.

My bad, you’re right. Opposition - they all look the same to me.

According to The Guardian, Aura has grabbed her passport and has left the Irish Republic. Puncture wound, apparently.

"Ireland will surely be better than this but the shamrock aura has been unceremoniously pierced."

Ireland’s Johnny Sexton fails to lift wilting shamrock against England

    Aura & Rugby: a History

All Blacks 1903-2017 (Except for 1948, 1992, 1998, World Cups 1991-2007 and some years ending in 3 playing England)

Australia 1983-1992 (As known as the Campese effect)

South Africa 1995-1996 (cf. The Mandela Aura)

France 1970s-2011 (French Flair: when you least expected it)

England 2002-2003 (As known as the Woodward years) 2019 (Some sights of a reappearance)

Wales: The 1970s (Including when Wales players represented the Barbarians)

Ireland: November 2018-January 2019 (Monte Carlo special)

A reading from St Patrick to the Kiwians

    All England tries were legit.
    Ireland were shit.

    Here endeth the lesson.

In other news, all the losers will play the winners in Round Two.
    Scot v Irl
    Ita v Wal
    Eng v Fra

If all three continue to win, it makes Round 3 very interesting with
Sco v Fra and Wal v Eng.

A bit harsh mate, perhaps judging on recent form your expectations are leading you down this road?

I see everyone rushing to anoint England as RWC favs, Rattue included. If there's anything I've learnt, it's that one game means nothing - if England roll all and sundry in the 6N, then let's talk.

I can't think of such favorable external circumstances for NZ for this RWC - no hometown advantage, except for Japan who are not contenders, and for once NZ are unlikely to be outright favourites.

    Could be a cracking game.

The Jocks are a tough proposition at Murrayfield, play attacking Rugby and you wonder how much Ireland's confidence (esp. Sexton) has been dented after yesterday's mauling

More than happy with that. There were questions raised about the ABs at RWC2015 until we hammered France in the quarter-final. Can't help but think that worked in our .

Gifford at his usual sanctimonious best.

Would have been delighted if NZ had played like that in Autumn. For the record England scored 4 tries and NZ none.

Reading between the lines all I see is 'Ireland beat the ABs, fuck how do I cope, I know, I'll attack them for being boring'....and we have the nerve to go on about Stephen Jones.

Gifford is so bad though. Articles like this make me long for him writing a Crusaders wankfest.

Mate, we all gave our journo twats. Where we in the UK have over you Kiwis is we manage to off load the odd fluffybunny down your way. No need for thanks.

You also have good ones. I can't think of any good NZ ones.

What these experts are not taking into account is England's draw. They have by far the hardest draw of any of the top teams. They have to play Argentina and France in the last two rounds of pool play which effectively means that they have to be close to or at their peak for five consecutive weekends in order to lift the cup. Not an easy ask.

He's also the kind of piston wristed gibbon who, if the ABs won the final 9-6, would laud them for their 'guts, determination, precision' and any other superlatives.

thing is, form leading into RWC isnt always a factor.

Possibly looking at being the most wide open RWC in many years, if not ever, with ABs always there or thereabouts...
SA coming along quietly, all but under the radar
Ireland, while thier confidence will have taken a huge dent, one game wont ruin them...losing is good for you apparently 😆 #peakedalready
England, another team that is usually there or thereabouts.

Not sure you can realistically look any further to France (biggest chokers in RWC history) or Wales.

2007 England proved that form during the tournament doesn't matter much either. They were a dragged toe away from potentially winning the final. And stank up the joint during that horrible, horrible tourney

That wouldn't surprise me although the reality it will be lots of articles about how lazy he is despite making the most metres all season and more tackles than The Tongan, Taufua or Evans.

Pretty sure there wasn't a world cup in 2007.
