Black Caps v India

CdG caught on the boundary, and Ian Smith nailed it ‘there was an air of predictably about that’
Neesham>CdG
At least Neesham can play the ‘nudge it around for a few overs’ game, as well as clear the rope.
These last two performances are sooo bloody disappointing, we haven’t even put up a fight.
-
in modern limited over cricket, who gives a fuck about the run rate until it gets to 10/over. like literally, we didn't have to do anything stupid for another 10 or so overs.
could've noodled it around for 10 overs and just scored 40-45.
we've been made to look real average in these two games -
Mark Richardson calling it right - we look bamboozled by spinners.
We've always looked bamboozled by half-decent spin. -
Are we that guy in club cricket who has all the gear and nice clean whites. He's keen as and a really nice guy for a nuffy. His technique looks ok in the nets but, while he gives it his all, he is worth fuck all runs and the odd helpful 18 not out keeps him turning up?
Is that us? Look pretty good but do fuck all when it counts?
This morning I thought we'd find out how good we are today - big match, good pressure.
Fuck....
Monday's big eh?

@Damo who - Sodhi, Boult and Fergusson?
And bracewell. Boult has a test match 50 after all (I think?)

Bracewell is the key now.
So long as the remaining batsmen can support him we're still a chance.
I love your optimism but we've been done for a while now. Indian bowling lineup is too good for our lower order, we are reliant on Guppy, Kane and Rosco going big against quality opposition. They've all failed two games in a row now.

Bracewell has some fucking power.
-
That was an outrageous shot from Boult.

That's been the fundamental problem. Kane and Rossco got themselves out to a certain extent today - well, Rossco was a bit sloppy.
Guptill looked almost like he was trying to get himself out - woefully out of form.
Those three guys in particular have not done themselves close to justice, so far.
@Mokey is right about trying to play both de Grandhomme and Munro. They're both sort of "gambit" batsmen. Sloggers who will come off occasionally and virtually win the game with strike rate - but, they'll both fail (together) more often than not.
It's pretty questionable whether either should be in ODI eleven and Neesham and Bracewell look to me to be pushing CdG out - possibly out of the WC squad.
BUT, I'd be somewhat inclined to send Guptill away to get an innings in domestic cricket for the next game and open with Latham and Munro.
