@Virgil or to translate it into Ocker: Reid-o, Dean-o, AB, Craig-o, Boon-o, Greg-o. Think you missed Steve-o.
Yup just spotted the talented Waugh brother lurking on the far left.
Mark Waugh had more natural talent, but Steve had it all over him mentally
I think I read somewhere they had the same natural talent but Marks concentration drifted and he thought about the horses after a session or two...

Mark just made it look easy though. Beautiful to watch
Off his pads? Sexual. Up there with a Lara cover drive for me (and a Ponting pull shot)
-
What shade is that. Sandpaper yellow?
-
@Stockcar86 it's actually AB-Could-Still-Kick-Your-Sorry-Arse Yellow

It was his late cut shot that showed his talent.

Tendulkar too. He cut balls so close to his body - just leaned back, let them go past him, and then flicked them down to fine leg for four. Incredible talent to be able to do that.

Cutting to fine leg is up there with hooking to 3rd man. It takes a special cricketer.

Arr, too early. Third man, obviously. There was a shot he played in the early 2000's against the aussies, where he literally just swayed back, and flicked it. Seriously excellent - minimum movement, maximum effect/

Mark Waugh would have to be the most elegant right hander ever right?
When the most elegant batsmen are listed the same names along with Waugh come up - Gower, Lara, Sobers, Sangakarra, Fleming and Turner (in an NZ context) - all lefties.

I actually rate Kane as more elegant than Afghanistan for all around shot making. Sometimes I watch Kane lean into a push and the next thing I know it's at the boundary. But generally the classically elegant are usually lefties...Turner was a RHB.

Yeah, except he just misses out due to the glorious unparalleled elegance of Martin David Crowe 🙂

Just read this piece on MDC from Mark Nicholas back in 2012
"To a man the Australians came to our dressing room and raised a glass to the bloke with the knackered knee who could still bat with the gods." Describing Crowe playing for an invitation XI 2-3 years after he retired. MDC made a century againt the touring aussies. Never knew that.

If anyone was rude enough they could call it a bit of a flat learning curve.

Not sure if this has been posted (couldn't see it yet) but this is an itneresting documentary from supersport on the ball tampering.
not quite finished, but a generally decent summary. Completely omits the SBW facemasks though!
Some people may have forgotten that the tour was already a controversial shambles before the sandpaper incidents. The sandpaper was just the most dramatic incident of a very unpleasant tour.
