@canefan Laumape?
otherwise Nonu return will be very interestingYou think that he isn't a midfield destroyer? That is what I was replying to.
I do think Laumape is would love to see him given big tests ..prob should have played this 1

@rancid-schnitzel that's why I pondered whether it was a conincidence. None of us will really know. We only saw Goodhue taking the ball on the run once and having enough time to pass to Ioane, and that was from a decent Mo'unga pass.
I am not a Barrett hater before anyone accuses me of being one. I am not convinced he is a world cup winning 10.

Yeah he is. Point I'm making is whether he is good enough to be our first choice number 12 and right now I'm not convinced

Firstly, and most importantly, well done Ireland and yuor supporters. Great victory, and well deserved. Effective game plan against us, and did enough on the day to get over the line.
The game was kind of weird. Wayne just refs weird stuff - misses a few forward passes, and then randomly pulls one out of his ass. His style is just unusual; I don't personally like it, but he wasn't the reason we got cooked today.
Schmidt outcoached us. Knew how to slow down our ball, and put people aroudn the ruck in places we didn't like. Well played - it's bloody effective.
Thought the ABs could have won that. A few critical drops - Rieko and Kieran - could ahve made the difference, and the pass from the Rieko break. But hey, them's the breaks. Ireland recycled the pill brilliantly, and kept it away fromus.
things for ust to work on:
- Go forward
- Tackling
- Scrumming
- Cohesion in the backs
- Passing
- Catching
- Sam and Brodie to not make dumb decisions around rucks (reaching fo rthe HB? Seriously? We're dumb)
felt like we just fed a steady stream of possession to the Irish, and couldn't get the ball back. That said, we weren't getting much out of the ref when we contested the ball on the floor. Look at minutes 30-35 or so in half one; we contested damn near every ruck, got hands on the ball, and didn't get any joy. So just kind of gave up.
Glass half full: this is all part of a grand plan and we're keepin gour RWC knockout game plans under lock and key; dont' read too much into an end of year loss away from home under Wayneo
Glass half empty: we're too old, too slow, and not strong enough mentally; the wins this year have disguised our crappiness, and we're just not a rugby smart team
Tell ya what, it's been a great ride, and sure hope it continues, but it is going to take some convincing that we're anything other than one of a number of contendors for the RWC.

We will gain no satisfaction next week. It will be a Summer of soul searching, which may not be a bad thing if we can come back with a renewed clarity about how we need to play
A lot of this team probably won't be playing next week. But maybe this loss, and more importantly performance, will cause the coaches to reassess the team that plays Italy.
I'd make the useless fluffybunnies do it again and redeem themselves. Fuck I hate losing.
Beep tests until they spew

are we seeing the value of Wayne Smith this year?
Our defence was a weapon forcing the opposition into areas they didnt want, we cause errors and boom, we strike, I suspect he also had a hand in our attack by the way things seem to be panning this year too.
OUr defence this year has been leaky and been outscored 3 tries to 1 in the past 2 weeks...we are often maligned for our attack at all cost gameplan, which seems to have been kicked for touch (or not into touch as seems the case with fucking box kicks)
When would we have last been outscored in the try stakes in 2 matches in the NH? Have we ever?

Outplayed and out coached by the Irish on the day,no real complaints from me.
Not the end of the world, but I have seen plenty of evidence to suggest signs of staleness within this coaching group. No question it was a points decision to Joe Schmidt after this mornings match and that what’s worrying me
We have the players, but is this coaching group getting the best of out of this group..?
I have often believed if you have several players at their best in a team of 15 there’s a good chance you go on an win.
That’s been a real concern not just in this mornings game, but also last weeks performance against England ,just the lack of our so called world class players standing up and when you consider the All Black coaches pulled out all the stops by taking away 51 players on this tour to protect many of our big guns..
Was it the right strategy..?,based on what we have seen you would have to say no..
Also our discipline when don’t have the ball has been terrible, some of our senior players the real culprits.
What’s that all about..?
Which leads me on to why all the penalties, when you give up ball with a poor kick game against a team like Ireland who can hold on to the ball no matter where they are on the paddock..you have got to ask questions abou strategy and dare I say it captaincy..My apologies if I am sounding like Watto, but I would like to think I have outlined my argument with a degree of thought.

Yes debatable. I am an ALB fan, so I'd have him and Goodhue.
I like Crotty, ALB and Goodhue. But can they form a balanced unit? I think Goodhue can be tough but he wasn't today. I think many guys were made to look worse because of the game plan

Give Wayne what ever he wants

@snowy I like ALB as a 13, we seem to lack depth there
ALB and Goodhue daylight 3rd?I'd actually have them the other way around? ALB seems to have a kicking game that is better than Jack's. Based on SR not tests.

On the upside, not doubt the world press will be hailing Ireland as the RWC favourites for next year..
Tell you what I don’t mind the underdog tag..!,
But we need to get our shit together ..!
