Yeah a Boba Fett movie in particular would be cool. Seeing him for the first time was awesome, for some reason he just seemed so cool, Lucas himself admitted he'd have more screen time if he had his time again. I personally reckon him surviving the Sarlacc ( which apparently he did anyway ) and having a crack at Han again on Endor woulda been cool. After all his old man knew how to look after himself, no disgrace getting decapitated by one of the most powerful jedi ever....would also give Tem some much needed work too !

Agree that Obi Wan did spin a bit of bullshit to Luke now I think about it. There's still a few annoying things that don't add up, I mean Dooku was a smart cookie, he MUST have known the Emp was lining up Annie as a replacement. There's only so much of that "dark side clouds everything" bullshit you can spin....

I'm also a bit upset that Lando doesn't seen to feature. Watch the space batte in episode 6 again, his efforts in that were sensational.

And that shows Lucas just misses the point. Fett was cool because he was used so sparingly, and mysterious. Using him more just takes away from all of that, you don't need to know all the answers, or how the Force works, etc, etc
-

So it looks like SW VII is going to be done in flashbacks (probably the only realistic way they can use Hamill, Ford and Fisher). It has been announced that Fisher's real life daughter (Billie Lourd) will be playing the young version of Leia. Looks like her too. Strap a couple of bagels to her head and you won't know the difference.

As for new characters, I would like to see a badass Jedi with suave calmness of Obi Wan. Basically, I want a James Bond Jedi. He should also be an alien with some interesting biology.

Or a badass Sith who wavers between good and bad to the point that he is nearly a lovable villian.

And some epic Jedi v Sith battles choreographed by Jackie Chan.
-

To be fair Obi and Annie did a bit less jumping around the second time they met. The fight took place in about 5 square metres with fuck all movement from either of them as opposed to backflips over areas the size of several football fields.
-

Having read Iain M Banks Culture novels, where all spaceships are flown by super intelligent computers, my MASSIVE issue is -

For £20k I can buy a Ford Focus than can parrenel park itself,

for £40k I can get a Volvo that can do that & will auto break if I'm driving at 30mph & would have hit something.

Google have a car that has clocked up 300,000km self driving without a problem. We can't currently put man on mars.

In the SW universe they have faster than light travel, laser weapons, can fully remake lost limbs and have droids that can converse fully as a human, yet they MANUALLY fly through an asteroid field.

Realistically its very very unlikely that anyone will manually be driving to the shops within 50 years, and yet these guys manually pilot space ships. Rationally, thats utter fucking bullshit.
-

Well Star Wars does portray Sci Fi in a much more cheerful way than say, the Alien series, those poor fuckers had to sleep in pods for years and hope something didn't burst out of their chests when they awoke !

In terms of manual flying Han only did it to get in Leias pants.

It worked.
-

Star Wars is about the wars side of things. if you want science, go watch Star Trek.

They pilot their own ships there too.

It really never occured to me at all till I read the Culture series & then watched a TV show about google cars... now its one of those "once you've seen it" things where I can't watch anyone flying a star ship at light speed manually & not think "I'm pretty sure google will have an app for that" At least in Dune they had an explantation - the machine wars, same with the Matrix, where it was obvious why super intelligent machines did not fly things.

Its like when you watch a movie with giant insects after finding out that the are physically impossible.

I can suspend disbelief re the force, vulcan mind melds, dragons, wookies etc its the simple stuff that we actually have in our universe that is a struggle. Its like after watching Gravity its very hard to see someone in space take off their helmet & explode, or see an explosion & hear it. In space. In a vacum. Its totally possible there are giant slug beasts that are criminal masterminds somewhere in the universe, but when shit explodes it space you don't hear the boom, and any civillisation that has hyper intelligent droids & faster than light travel is not parking their own space ships or letting humans manually fly out of trillion dollar space docks with 20 foot of clearance on each side...

Theres a great bit in The Hydrogen Sonata where there's a huge space battle & the ship is watching it with a human & the ship goes "ooh! I like this bit!" & then human goes ? & the ship laughs & goes "Ha! you didn't think this was real time did you? This whole battle took 2 nanoseconds, I've slowed the recording down so you can watch".
