I know we sometimes don't use our one of our locks at all in some tests , just to fuck with my head, but over 6 games where the hell did Sam W disappear to?
Pretty sure Whitelock is the lifter for most of Reads takes

A few years ago we would switch which one of our locks was a primary target.
One week Retallick would have 0 takes, next week Whitelock 0 takes, sort of thing. We can mix it up with 4 targets.
But. I'm still very surprised that over 6 games Sam Whitelock doesn't make a list where the cutoff is 9 takes. That's a very interesting approach.

tall lifters make a world of difference.
This is based on nothing than single watch, naked eye type analysis. But i think we throw to the front a lot more than most teams. And i think this is because the speed and width of Aaron Smith's pass allows us to use 2 or 3 ball as still good attacking ball, where as other teams feel the need to throw a bit deeper. And if you are throwing to the front you are often hitting your shorter jumper. I would actually like to go back and break down our lineouts in a test one day, but who has that sort of time?

@mariner4life @gt12 won''t be doing his Frizell watch this tour so he might have the time?

Henry basically said Akira Ioane should be in the All Blacks, and if "they showed him a bit of love" he could be an international great.
Was nice to hear Sumo also question why the hell Akira is not in the ABs: if this AB coaching staff is so great why can they not get the best out of him.

Bumping this from another thread: @DrivingMaul and @Steven-Harris talking about the ABs & NZ Maori tours

The Shortball podcast is back.
Before the season kicks off and we get back into the Shortball we have a small Rugbypass podcast, In conversation where we take our time to chat to a few of the people who make up New Zealand's national game.
Today we talk to none other than Sir Bryan Williams.
