I would like to start a petition that rugby games be shortened from 80 min to 70 min! Any seconds in the room?

    😞

Tough luck mate, your boys were clinical for 70 odd minutes, really shut us out of the game. Just need to work out the final 10 as the ABs have finished the stronger in both tests this year.

Great to have SA back competing though, the rivalry continues.

Bench was unreal - Savea, Patty T, Mounga and TJP all had a huge impact. It was like the 14-15 bench where they just hit a switch and changed the game on a dime.

Bender did a couple of things in that 55-70 minute period that stopped that game from getting out of control.

Nicely done - very reminiscent of a Bledisloe in Brisbane 2010, where they pretty effortlessly scored two pick and go tries late after being hopeless the entire game.

The backline we finished with is well balanced. Crotty is a 12. ALB’s quick feet and straight running is suited to 13. Bender and Barrett at the back had all the Bok kicks covered. Ioane stepped up a gear also.

comiserations, but you should try and rejoice about the huge improvement the Boks have made in the last 12 months, clearly right up there

The funny thing is, the dodgy stream I was watching paused with the Boks in the ABs 22 right after kickoff. It unpaused like 10 seconds later, with the All Blacks on the Boks 5m line. I knew right then it was game over.

    This.

Credit to all the bench too though. Ardie wins the penalty then scores the winning try. Whay a transformation he has had this year

Smith at 15. Beaudy off the bench like SBW in 2015 very early in the second half.

They keep preaching it is a 23 man game, it's clear Beauden's best position is off the bench against a tiring defence.

Can we get rid of Scott McLeod, defence coach, now please?

Our defence this year has been fucking rubbish, and yet again we conceded a bunch of points tonight.

I really hate when teams alter their game plan and try to defend a lead for 20 minutes. It never works out. Same as american football's "prevent defence". All it does is prevent you from winning. Keep playing the way that got you there in the first place.

Congrats to the All Blacks for doing what the All Blacks do best!

If we are being honest, B. Barrett is the best fullback in the squad. He does everything Bender can do, high ball, counterattack, linking, even the jinking runs. He’s quicker and covers the ground better. He just happens to be a pretty good 10 as well.

I’m a big fan of Bender on the right wing though.

Can we get rid of all these shit refs that seem to be hell-bent on being the reason the ABs lose. I mean God there has been way too many just not even Borderline calls. Just beyond home town bias. But that just make this win so much better

Ref was fine. Patch off my friend. Or try reffing yourself.

Nah, the Boks outplayed us for 70 minutes and are obviously improving. Great to see them so competitive against us rather than the shellackings they've got over the last few years.

Love the rivalry and respect, and the way the 2 teams mingle after the game.

Reminder that this South African team lost to Argentina and Australia this year.

Yes and no. The Boks are France-lite. They raise their game on the Highveldt and against the ABs (providing they haven't decided they don't care about that particular fixture beforehand which is a very French trait in itself).

But yes, we were one handling error away from losing a brace against the Boks which should still be a huge wake up call for a team that failed at a major hurdle each of the past two years.

Not a great All Blacks performance, but an amazing comeback. So happy to win. The All Blacks were only ahead for one second of that game, fortunately it was the last one.

So much respect for the Springboks and the Rugby supporters of South Africa. Your team outplayed ours for most that Test.

The All Blacks against the Springboks is the greatest rivalry in sport. Always special to win a close one away from home

So did mine, still 4am over here so I can't blame her.

Yeah 3am here ... but got up to watch Richie's conversion, and has now insisted on watching the replay ( @Chris-B ) of the last 20 minutes. 🙂

Can't knock a win, phenomenal thievery

It's fun laughing at the ends of games.

It was almost like shag had this dead rubber pegged for "newbie last minute win" initiation.

That first half needs discussing though, scoring first phase wonder tries against disinterested frogs or woeful wallabies is one thing but against a willing foe that impatient attack can fuck with game momentum

Aaron Smith turns 30 in November. Is that old for a halfback?
