I’ve coached an u16s side that resembled the current Wallaby team....

What da fuq U mean bro? He's a fukken clown eh bro? Fuk da Aussies bro dey shut bro!
Yes, the performance of this Wallabies squad I completely down to how Cheika behaves.
It only he sat there like Codmouth Hansen, completely dispassionate on the outside, we'd actually thrash teams!
Or just MAYBE it could be the massive differences between available talent, player and coach development pathways, and profile of the game in the two nations?
Nah ut's the shut coach bro!
-
Also: have coached senior footy in Subbies.
Frustrating, particularly in amateur competitions when just getting people to training is hard, but getting them to the pub is easy.
More frustrating is Club President when you're run off your arse just keeping things together, and watch this generation of blokes just turn up when they want or pull out at the last minute, while the competition organisers cater to the eastern suburbs elite.

Keep excusing him Nicholas ... he'll come good ... and his team will soon stop believing they are victims ...
-
@booboo I'm not excusing shit. I'm laughing at this childish belief that Cheika's attitude is somehow responsible for our performances at this point.
He could turn into a fucking angel in the next 5 minutes and it will not change shit about Australian Rugby.
Half the fluffybunnies in head office would start slapping their own arse if you put a blowtorch on their elbow.
"But they did alright in 2015!" you say - yeah but again that was 3 years ago. Everyone continued to move on. Australian rugby did not, and besides some mind boggling selection/substitution decisions by Cheika, what the fuck else is there?
The cupboard is bare. There is nobody else in terms of players OR coaches. And it is solely down to the way the game is managed.
After your boys got knocked out in 2007, everyone got together and decided shit needed to change - even tho you were still winning waaaaay more than you lost. The record since then speaks for itself.
Our watershed moment is going to be a lot further down the track because of the sheer volume of internal politics and self-interest.
EDIT: I just realised that it may NOT come. RA HQ is vewy vewy quiet at the moment and we've heard nothing about a plan from Agent Raelene* in terms of a concrete way forward for the Men's XV a side game.
My offer to Rugby Australia is still open BTW: I'll do it for $400K per annum, and I get to tell anyone I like to fuck off if they're not helping.
Should only take 12 months.
*It would be a tough gig having to be an agent for NZ and Rugby League at the same time...

Can't help but think that a Foley/Toomua combination was worth trying
With Beale at the back? That was what I was expecting
Possibly. In terms of shit fullbacks, he's not the worst.

@NTA I didn't notice anyone going off on Cheikas antics being the reason the wobs are a bit poke. What did I miss?
I'll claim a bit of responsibility in the regard.
I maintain that it is a contributing factor as he openly conveys levels of excuse making for what happens in the game, whether it is illegalities from the opposition or perceived bias/incompetence from the refs.
Surely that rubs off on the team, blaming everyone else over/alongside themselves. How does he get the team to iron out their issues when he blatantly puts blame on others all the time?

@bones mate welcome to the fern! Been a topic here for a while.
Simplest way to explain is to ask the questions 'would I be impressed if AB coaches acted like he does?' and 'do I think it helps sort out playing problems?'
The answer to both is no.
-
Aah fuck.
Had long post typed out but messed it up with fumble fingers.
@NTA
Gist was:- Cheika always been an idiot and overrated, (pretty much in hopefulness) by Strayan rugby people on back of ok 2015 season
- antics don't help as players have excuse to be shit
- players (and coach) are better than results
- Cheika's got to go through to RWC
- Hope Wobs and SR teams do better as rugby is superior sport to other shit in Aus but getting disrespected

Fair enough.
But if they were doing that, and still winning by 30, I'd suggest that double-blind studies into the topic would point to a statistically insignificant number of fucks given by Kiwi fans generally.
