@taniwharugby How quick things can change. BoP leading 20 - 13 after 44 minutes. Both teams looking strong.

It was widely discussed in the Crusaders thread that they had signed an Aussie schoolboy on a academy contract. That player, lock Nick Frost looks the goods in this Canterbury U19 team.

Interestingly, the commentators just said that there is also an Aussie schoolboy in the BoP U19 team, as well as one in the Waikato U19 (or was it Counties?) team.

@stargazer The Waikato halfback Josh Vuta is an Aussie (ex Aust SS) the commentators said. I'd never heard of him previously.

@steven-harris Yeah, that will be interesting. I wonder when he came to NZ. Before the 1st of January, and the residency period is 3 years; if he can after, it's 5 years.

Great to see yet another team win the tournament. There was nothing between these teams, either could have won it. Congrats to BoP, awesome game.

I was busy doing other things so only watched bits and pieces of the final. When BOP got that late penalty I thought they'll win it and then I came back to seeing the intercept try to finally seal the game. I'll have to watch a replay/highlights to see the frantic final 5 mins.

The main interest now will be the NZ U20 training squad. I expect there will be plenty of players we never saw today on TV in that squad.
