It's amazing that you can abuse an appointed official by calling them a liar and then say it is sexist when you get punished for it. I'm no tennis expert so I can't speak to the coaching and racquet violations and whether they are consistently enforced. Sexism comes down to just being disrespectful to women so if you are going to throw those terms around, you should make sure you treat other people properly.

@jegga Serena said something that implied they are always out to get her...whether that was around the sexism or even toward racism?

And yet somehow she’s won what is it 22 opens?

If tennis had wanted to stunt her career, would have been easy. Bring in true equality and make women play 5 sets at grand slams... her power would have been negated.

I can. I am a qualified Tennis referee.
Coaching at lower levels is always a warning. Always. At ATP and WTA tournaments, they sometimes are, sometimes not. Could go either way. In this case the coach admitted it so.....
Raquet breaking is always a violation, umpires don't even have discretion with it.
Personal abuse is more discretionary, but is usually a violation. Guys get waaay more violations, but they usually calm down after the first or second. She just kept going at it.

Men have lost points and games before. McEnroe even forfeited a match at a grand slam tournament,.

    Williams is a disgrace.

Yet again Stuff proves that they'd last about a week if they put up a paywall...

That isn't written by a Stuff reporter. It is written by Sally Jenkins, a syndicated columnist for amongst other things the Washington Post. Funny story, she wrote Lance Armstrong's autobiography. Then when the scandal broke she defended him saying " I’m confused as to why using cortisone as an anti-inflammatory in a 2,000-mile race is cheating, and I wonder why putting your own blood back into your body is the crime of the century"

Stuff bought the piece, as have other media outlets around the world to give a bit of balance.

On the other hand the article is a disgrace. Worse than anything Rattue and Reason have ever written.

She doubled down on the sexist thing at the press conference.

So she'll be protected by her idiot enablers and go back to her ridiculously opulent life while the poor umpire will no doubt be crucified and never umpire a major game again.

@rocky-rockbottom Not since the 2008 Rugby League World Cup final has there been a more embarrassing awards ceremony following the game. The US Open official basically insults the winner Osaka by saying that everyone is disappointed that Serena didn't win.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

    Just sprung to mind.

With very few exceptions, all the media hot takes are standing up for Serena condemning the deplorable male ump for his rampant sexist racism and the usual atrocties. With very few exceptions, because news media is overwhelmingly staffed by biased SJW nutjobs who only care about sports insofar as they can libsplain and push their “progressive” brainwashing agenda.

I'll have to watch ESPN's Around the Horn and PTI to see what they say. Wilbon is a Serena fanboy so he'll likely be defending her.

The meltdown from the cretins who have been excusing her behaviour would be something to behold .

When she went after a female line umpire:

Australia’s Sam Stosur became the unexpected winner of the US Open after an extraordinary final in which her opponent, Serena Williams, had another huge bust-up with the officials.
