MotM vs Australia II

The B Team
B2
BFA
BBBR -
Interesting. I expected a pretty wide spread tonight considering pretty much the entire squad played well.
I went BBarrett for obvious reasons.
LSquire for his best ever test. When it was still an arm wrestle he was absolutely massive.
And A Smith because he was the driver behind everything constructive we did.BSmith, Retallic and Jordie were also unreal. A good night for a lot of guys.
-
Taylor for me was best, workrate.
BB of course
Squire- outstanding
Then BFA.
Everyone else played ex as well -
@mariner4life BB, BFA, Squire, although in this company maybe it needs to be BLS?
BBBR close as always.

Me too. Taylor and BBBR were unlucky to not get a vote. And, after looking at how much of the space was created, A Smith too. The All Blacks presser was really interesting because Fozzie discussed how they are trying to use BB differently, basically just because of his speed. It certainly worked in this test, and in the last two tests he's looked even better once Dmac has come on - having two 10/15s in the last 20 really helps to create space for him as we go up the gears. I thought Jordie did well player first receiver a few times last night too, so that seems to be part of getting the best out of BB.

@gt12 I think with players like Dmac, BFA, BB, JB, Goodhue, ALB are all smart creative players with the ability to direct play and set others up, and with them all in the same backline it will inevitably create mis-matches for Dmac and BB to exploit with sheer gas...without even thinking about the laser guided passes of Smith, or what the likes of Read, BBBR & SW can do
-
Yep, but what I think we are also seeing is not just tactics from players with those skills, but also a strategy to put BB in speed mis-matches by operating, for example, second man plays that open small gaps that most 10s couldn't take advantage of.

It's most noticeable when DMac subs onto the field and takes a lot of first receiver duties. Even BFA was doing it against the Wallabies last week.

I missed the game as my wife decided to go into labor - as a Wallabies supporter I guess from her perspective childbirth is less painful than watching them play the ABs so fair enough.
Have caught the highlights - geez we scored some great tries eh? Squire's was a thing of beauty, the angle he ran and the perfectly timed ball from BBBR. Orgasmic. Also loved how Moody lined up a couple of backs on their goalline and just smashed the fuck through them.
Great to see us put Beauden into some space as well, he's a very different player to Carter but fuck we can tear teams apart if we use him like we did last night.
