Slightly confused about this talk of thinking England have beaten Colombia already ...

Not seen or heard a single bit of that myself. Whole office is worried about Colombia, the daily rags on the train were all talking about Colombia. A couple of them mentioned that England's side of the draw is somewhat easier than the other, but focus is on Colombia.

Musn't have watched ITV last night

Has the women's coach been canned yet? Surely it's a given now

You'd think so, but it might depend on how much it is going to cost.

I heard a little snippet in the last couple of days that Janine Southby is likely to survive as Silver Ferns coach because they can't afford the cost of getting rid of her.

If she decides to hang on on that basis it would seem time for a stadium of fans to start chanting "Fuck off Southby"!

Kind of rooting for the Argies now, theyre all so gung ho into it. Plus, of course, Fuck France.

Just when I thought DiMaria had fallen off Rodders Cliff he goes and hits a 35 yard wonder strike.

Messi looks like he's out for a Sunday walk, when you even see him that is

Charles Piutau is having a savage game for France. 2 goals in the 2nd half already.

I thought the Argies might trouble a France team who seemed like they could be a little soft in the middle. But after withstanding the challenge the French are looking legit

Great match. Set the standard hopefully.

Thought Argentina would do it, but thoroughly deserved win for France.

They're going to be hard to beat.

France-Argentina has been the best game so far. I never thought this game would be one-sided but expected France to prevail. Two of the best goals of the WC too! Kante has some engine on him. Messi was a passenger, which sums up his tournament.

Uruguay-Portugal isn't over yet. But WTF with CR7's shorts halfway up his arse when he takes a free kick. Another reason to hate him.

The Mexican ref was great. He didn't stand for any of the player theatrics and the game flowed.

    Two stunners from Cavani.

    Two great matches.

Happy to be 0-2 with my predictions on these performances

Hope Suarez gets some kind of bravery medal. When he took that massive head knock and screamed out in pain before laying prone on the ground for minutes, only to be miraculously back up running is nothing short of amazing bravery.

@virgil It had to be whiplash, or he got his teeth stuck in the ground. 🤣

The replay clearly showed the contact was in the back, not the back of his head.

That's why I liked the ref as you saw so many players get up after they realised they couldn't con the ref.

Maybe he could teach all the other refs?

How good is Cavani? Would be brilliant if all the big nations (and England) went out now or in the quarters.

Youaregay vs Belgium and Croatia vs Switzerland would be farking mint.

Really want a new winner ... but I guess Uruguay wouldn't be a bad alternative. Been 68 years.

Is it wrong of me to want England to get close, real close, but not quite go all the way?

@crazy-horse England's cup to lose in my opinion. The draw looks good for them and they are playing well.

And I am going to say that to every Englishman I meet over the coming days. Should be fun.

can't even fathom the media wank if Eng won the whole thing. They're still having a colossal daily tug over the last one in 1066.

That's why it would be amusing to see them cut off moments before the money shot.
