    @kiwipie

    Normal stuff when a team is underperforming - coach is a knob / has lost the dressing room etc.

    France won't be bothered about facing Argies

    France haven't exactly been ripping up trees either, I suspect they have a soft underbelly. Once you are in to the knock out anything can happen. I was reading a football book with CF Jnr last night, was reminiscing about WC 82. Eventual champions Italy won a close game vs the Argies in the final group match, and got two uninspiring draws vs Peru and Cameroon. They went on the beat Zico's Brazil and Carl Heinz Rummenigge's West Germany along the way to the trophy.

    Argies looked lost again but their 2 goals to win it were goddamn sumptuous so I suppose they deserve it.

    Maradona was on top form, the mad bogan. Luckily fans aren't drug tested.

    I notice someone holds Maradona everytime he leans forward near the railing. I'm sure they know he will lose his balance and fall over.

    @rocky-rockbottom Anthony Bourdain said the first thing he wanted to do when he left Argentina was eat a vegetable. Having eaten at Maradona's parilla its a miracle he's still alive - even before you factor in his coke and booze habits

    Check out the watch on each wrist. Can't be that unbalanced.

    Think I read that in his heyday he'd have a giant steak and bottle of red wine every day... for breakfast. Now that's some solid paving for the road to ruin.

    I remember the story of the Argentine Minister of Beef(?) a few years ago, he had a large heart attack. Go figure

    He's very fat for someone who does as much Charlie as he does.

    He must have a terrible metabolism.

    @crucial

    "Avoiding the Germany/Brazil" side of the draw no longer looks quite so important!

    I think we avoided both sides of the draw quite well. Yet again NZ can claim to being unbeaten at the WC.

    @crucial very funny.

    However it does mean Belgium and England will want to win. That might make that game rather more interesting.

    I've never been a big fan of losing to get a "better" side. In the RWC, if you have aspirations of winning you want to be on the ABs side. We've been much easier to beat in early rounds. Brazil are not likely to get worse in this tournament.

    And no-one cares you made the final and lost. These things are winner take all.

    bloody embarassing. I'll take consolation in the fact that there was no bad luck involved, it was actually all just shit form by most of the usual key players, especially Özil, Kroos and Müller. Fuck these overpaid fucks. Will root for England, Belgium and Croatia now.
